trujdm 11-02-2011 06:49 PM

Rufus 11-02-2011 11:22 PM

trujdm 11-03-2011 05:57 PM

Yes, minus the gay ass red/white/yellow inputs on the side. WTF is that all aboot?

Rufus 11-03-2011 06:06 PM

Video obviously. Kpro maybe?

trujdm 11-03-2011 10:59 PM

I'm saying, there are plenty of less conspicuous places to mount those. Looks extremely tacky IMO but still better than the original pic of this thread. :smackself:

insanemechanic 11-06-2011 03:09 PM

oh well it was wortha shot ;)

bseries1320 11-06-2011 03:35 PM

Who does that to an s2k let alone any car ...

Beaner mobile

bryan720 11-07-2011 09:20 AM

Any one know a shop that will do this?

Rufus 11-07-2011 09:52 AM

That ring is uber expensive I'm pretty sure. There's plenty of room in the dash to do it though.

bryan720 11-07-2011 10:49 AM

From what I read you can heat the OEM one and bend it to kind of fit the LHD dash or make a bezel as most people do. I just don't feel safe cutting my dash and making a bezel with the experience I have. Also seems like some people take the passenger duct out or make it smaller to fit a full unit or keep it but just put a screen there and have a driver/brain some where in the car. There is a shop in NY that charges $300 to cut and make a bezel but than you would have to ship the whole dash to them, Might do that down the line if I can't find some one local that will feel ok cutting the dash but again its just something I would do way way way down the line.

fasts2k 11-07-2011 01:31 PM

Wasn't there a dash fs on Craigslist? Buy it and practice on it, lol.

Rufus 11-07-2011 01:41 PM

The cutting is easy. Making the bezel isn't terrible either. Just farm it out to someone at Signature Audio.

The dash on CL has a dent in it though.

cluster fuck

insanemechanic 11-08-2011 12:25 PM

i think one of the bigger reasons i went this route waas because of time , that dash project was something i reallllly wanted to do ... it is clean . but its gonna take at least a day . i work everyday and right now this my dd . so its not really an option . what i did is still reversable .. so its not that bad , we may still make a bezel to clean it up but also that door that hides the single din radio always sticks in my knee so now that its gone , its a lil more comfortable to me . but we will see i may go the oem route later , but for now i think this will do . its completely mounted and dont look bad...

Rufus 11-08-2011 01:12 PM

to you....

Bill Cosby 11-08-2011 01:15 PM

the last pic looks great! ( NO Not the dork posing as an umbrella girl... lol ) and it looks really flush, all though i think i would spend the money and get the dash cut and use the remaning space from the OEM radio hide away as a glove box. i remember it being kinda annoying when i got my first s2k ap1, i got over it but seems like a good idea. still that is a hack job even if the OP dosent agree. nice try but no...

nelsmar 02-13-2012 07:37 PM

Personally i use a single din (OEM FTW) and shut the door while i drive. I am a big fan of watching the road and driving my car rather than worrying about how my CD player displays what track is on (which i already know since i can hear it). If i really wanted a fancy ass screen i would go buy something more luxurious, you know the kind of vehicle where i can adjust my testicles without opening my door?

Sucks that S2000's are now in that price bracket. :(

berny2435 02-13-2012 07:48 PM

I'd do the JDM mount if I really needed a built in GPS but I've found a mount for my phone will do fine.. .

I do want to upgrade the OEM radio later this year and get something that allows me to use the buttons to the left of the wheels which are in an awesome spot IMO.
