need help checking coil
 

my buddy has a 97 civic non vtec and it die out on him as he was getting off the freeway. checked all fuse and it is NOT getting spark don't have a wiring diagram. how to check if the coil is bad distributor, ecu or the main relay

how do you know its not getting spark

wouldnt you have to remode the plugs fromt the dizzy while the car is running to check??

The yellow/black wire on the dizzy should have 12v when cranking / on. If it doesn't, its a relay issue. If it does, you may have a coil or ICM issue.
