body shake
I get a really bad body shake in my 99 hatch I'm thinking it has to do with the tires needing to be rebalanced or maybe needs a new alignment but I just got an alignment last month. What do you guys think?
It happens once I get up to around 65mph
could also be a worn tire or bubble in the tire :blunt:
Does it feel like the ass of the car is going side to side?
No it feels like my front end it's almost like a death wobble my stewring wheel also shakes really bad. It's like using a shake weight :rofl:
Jack your car up grab the wheel if theres play ball joints are bad.
If they shake when passing 60 miles per hour and more the faster u go its the Inner tie rods Could also be the rotors are warped also check for cotter pins make sure there in as well. Hope this helped to give you some things to check out. |
Do you hear any noise when it's shaking?
Check for play in your front wheels. Inspect your bushings, tires, and suspension components. If you're uncertain, take it to a shop for an inspection. |
Thanks guys everything looked good bushings ball joints wise I'm try replacing inner tierods and.see how that works
hard to believe, but it can also be bad struts or axles.
Can be alot of stuff i have the same issue. Im starting with axles since i know the inner boots are fucked. And why not start with something that obviuosly needs replaced lol
Hey i'm going to start with tie rods cause i plan on lowwering my car this week and i can do it all in one go then if it continues i can try axles.
ive never had axles cause vibration such as that. even with axles with no boots and grease. axles are designed to absorb vibration not create it. with that being said there have been times with incorrect built axles or something extreme wrong and that will cause problems
Hmm ill have to check everything else out then. As far as i know they are 96 oem axles lol
Any weird noises?! Wheel bearing? Does it vibrate while turning? Does it get worse or stop?
It literally only vibrates at right as I hit between 60-65 mph and that's the only time it does it.
Rotate tires see if the vibration goes to the back.
Actually did that today after work makes me believe it has to do with the tie rods or something along those lines.
For closure if anyone even cares lol I changed the inner tie rods and got an alignment and it stopped the shake.
I was leaning towards that being an issue. After all its about 212000 miles and 18 years old. Maybe when i do my brakes and axles ill change em.
