Because one side is bolted to the block. I guess that makes it harder for some people.
It takes me all damn day to change an axle. I gotta get off the couch, then I gotta have a cigarette, then I gotta stand around for a bit, then I get distracted by something that doesn't need to be touched, then a friend comes over and we talk about nothing important for three hours, then I forget what I needed to do so we talk some more, then I remember I wanted to replace an axle, and then that takes like 40 minutes because someone has to talk shit and crack jokes the entire time. |
Sounds like a great time.

Well yeah, I had to get EX spindles and a bunch of machine work, but I'm talking hub specific, not the whole conversion. Next time I'm just going to get 32mm 5 lug hubs machined for my wheel bearings and pop those in.

B series axles have a 3 bolt carrier on the left side therefore taking 3 bolts longer in time
|
Have u guys seen the karcepts 32mm 4 lug spindles? They bolt on no prob

3 bolts for the intermediate shaft add more time.
Also would like to know if that's 12 minutes to pull and replace or just just pull. |
why would you pull the intermediate shaft to replace an axle?
|
If you were just using hand tools, I figured it would be faster to just zip the other 3 bolts off than to wrestle with splitting the outer shaft from the intermediate shaft. If you were at home and using special tools then yes, I would just put my splitter in there and separate them...
|
never had a problem with my bfh getting that axle off but i do see what you are saying
|
I've had to remove the intermediate shaft all the time, they just don't want to come loose.
