camshaft & cam gear question.

just got a 00 civic si running again, Gots the complete bolt on and it still runs slow. So, its just a daily driver and NOT a race car. Just want it to have some power when needed. anyways, wondering if any guys out there would agree to a skunk2 tuner camshafts stage 1 and cam gears. I dont know if I even the skunk2 cam gears??.. yeah, The motor got 150,000 miles on it but the compression is still great. Planning on changing the camshafts same time as the timing belts and etc. reason Im asking is because camshafts is the last bolt on I can do without ripping the motor apart. You know, Weekend projects.. yeah, LMK what you guys think. thanks bros..

i would go bigger. the stg 1 tuners arent much different than stock ITR's

i would go pro series stage 1's or even stage 2's if you're planning on doing more stuff to it in the future. then get a tune

but when upgrading cams, you must also upgrade your valvetrain! new springs, retainers, sometimes even keepers if you want. Stage 1 cams it isnt completely neccessary, but some people still insist do it.

but once you upgrade them once, never needs done again!

go big or go home

true..true... I really dont want to rip the head off just to upgrade the valvetrain.. plus, tuner stage 1 is slightly more aggresive then ITR's.. and I dont need to upgrade my valvetrain because I wont be revving my motor to 9k. I do understand go with bigger camshafts and start a project but, Im not ready for it yet. I'll think about it for a couple more days wheather I'll run the skunk2 stage 1 tuner series or fuck it.. "go big or go home" Run something bigger

Thanks guys for your opinion.

valve springs and retainers can be done with the head on the block still.

and seriously, go pro series or dont even bother. the tuner series was more of a oem replacement than anything
