suspension noise...

ok, so i bought a 95 civic coupe about a month ago and when i bought it, it was making a noise like a loose strut tower or maybe a bad bushing in a lower control arm. it would make the noise when going over bumps and when braking over 50 mph you would hear and feel a vibration. so i bought the car and put it in the air to get a better look. saw a bad lower control arm bushing (vibration in the braking) and cut springs(top point of spring making noise on shock tower, maybe the point from the spring pierced through the tower bushing). so i figured its a pretty easy fix. since buying the car, i have installed coil overs with new shocks, passenger and driver inner tie rods, pads and rotors, a full energy bushing kit including the front lower control arm bushings, rear lower control arm bushings, front upper control arms, shock and tower bushings, shift linkage bushings, and sway bar bushings. and got it aligned.

but its still making the noise.

it only makes the going over bumps noise at slow speeds, i can hit potholes on the freeway all day and it doesnt make a sound, but going over a speed bump sounds horrible. and after new pads, inspecting the calipers, new rotors, and replacing all the bushings i still get the vibration from braking at high speeds.
:newwhip:
any ideas??? anyone???

is the vibration from a worn bearing?

no, doesnt give that humming noise when going down the road like a bearing. i was thingking that maybe, just maybe somehow it could be the half-shaft wibrating between the tranny and wheel spindle... idk, has anyone heard of something like that. its not an actual blown boot or anything like that, but like if the axle was lets say loose in the input shaft on the tranny(passenger side) and from the wheel/control arms moving up and down the noise would be from it bumping the tranny, and it would vibrate when braking. idk, its kinda the only think i can think of right now...

Have you inspected the Rack and Pinion mounting bushings and bolts? A loose rack would cause a shimmy and the noise you speak of. Do a shakedown on the front end with the load off of the lower ball joint. I would start there.

rack and pinion bushings already done with the energy kit:( when i put the car in the air or on a lift and start beating and prying on shit to see whats loose i cant find anything. im getting under it again tonight and testing my drive shaft theory, but any other ideas are helpful and appreciated.
