B series axles questions regarding new transmission
OK I have a b20 swap with b16 tranny in my eg coupe. I have an awd crv tranny that will be swapped in the the next few days. My first question is "Will the axles I have now work with the new tranny?
Waiting for results of this lol

You're installing an all-wheel-drive transmission into a front-wheel drive car? Ummm....
Also, that CRV transmission, was it of of a B-series CRV motor? :th_supergay::smackself::wave1: |
I will go ahead and tell u im doing a full awd swap for yor help. And yes the new tranny I got came off the same exact same type and year crv I got the engine from
Nobody knows? I measured the lengths and it seems to be the same. I just need to know if the splines are the same on the transmission side for a b16 and awd b20 transmissions.
b-serious is b-serious
why do you try it out and let us know i could tell you but then id have to kill you :drive: |
plans to to do a awd vehicle but have done no research...
How are you going to get power to the rear wheels? That requires a drive shaft. Something a Civic doesn't exactly have room for without some major modification. Rear axle install, all that jazz.
I've been researching for over a year. I wasn't planning on moving forward with the front axles until later but everything else has came together so quickly its crunch time. I've had all the parts for a week now. The rear end is done and I'm headed home now to put the tranny in. Thank u to the guy that said b series is b series. That's wat I've found everywhere I looked. I guess ile let u guys know in a few if they fit. And I got the drive line from a crv...
Also I tried last night to post pics but idk how to copy a URL for the pictures. To all the dicks I wana say fuck u in advance...
Thank u sir

Take your trans to autozone and test out an axle.
crv axles wont work. too long and 36mm outer joints wont fit
grab some integra axles from 94-01 and test those |
^ What he said. Your axles now should be just fine, crv will be way too long for you. I've been having axle problems myself since I am now 36mm in my crx. Axles have been my worst enemy through this whole process. Good luck with your build though.
Ive recently had my share of axle troubles... how fast can you remove an axle? lol
I bet I can remove my tranny as fast as you remove your axle lol
Sweet, I'll be dropping my trans again, ill call you for help. :wave1:
OK the ones I had in there worked perfect. The transmission mounts r way off I have to weld some in the morning
why in Gods green creation would you be 36mm in a crx? :type:
12 minutes flat using hand tools :spam:
well that doesnt take long. just open the car door and kick em out :rflmao:
L.O fucking L
Sometimes they fight back
L or R right side?
does it matter? :inlove:
thats what the taser in the map pocket is for
For street cred, yeah. You get bonus points for slightly higher difficulty if you did that on the L side axle, in 12 minutes with hand tools.
Good deal on an JDM ITR 36mm 5 lug setup lol. Now I know to just do 32mm USDM Type R next time lol.
actually you dont do either of those on any EF but you already knew that :type:
how is either side any harder than the other? well at least not to me. :type:
