Need to hook!

So hears my issue. So with my integra all done and tuned it wont hook for shit! It has boost by gear and on the wastegate 8psi it makes 376. With peddling it starts to grip at the top of 3rd in 4th gear I can go to 10.5psi but I would like to be at full boost in 4th so now I need to focus on traction so I can begin putting down the power sooner.

Currently the car has a bone stock ls transmission and 225 40 15 NT01s im wounding what I should invest in first. Keeping in mind money is a very big factor at the moment.

LSD and traction bars?
And I think your suspension has an effect on it if it's bad shocks or how stiff your spring rates are maybe?

AZ_CIVIC 02-26-2015 05:38 PM

Are you looking for traction on the street with street tires? Or slicks for the track?

Street tire with your power get Mickey Thompson ET Drag 225/60/15 or get M&H 235/60/15.

M&H will handle your power no problem.

1nastyef 02-26-2015 06:28 PM

I have 25 9.7 M&H for the track but want to put down the power a bit better on the street. I know I wouldn't hook everything I can produce but I would like to be at least getting off the wastegate in 3rd. Building a transmission is out of the question at this time. I have never used a traction bar before. Would it do any justice?

AZ_CIVIC 02-26-2015 07:50 PM

You mean m&h 25x8.7 and a traction bar won't really do anything as far a getting you to hook.

Get the m&h 235/60/15 for the street, they will handle all your power well.

1nastyef 02-26-2015 08:35 PM

Yes 8.7 is what I meant. I really don't want to put that tall of a tire on for the street. I like it to look very uniform and street trim when not in "race mode" was hoping I could get the job done a bot better on the tire im currently running. I know it's a long shot but maybe someone has a little something I haven't thought of to share.

AZ_CIVIC 02-26-2015 08:47 PM

I run the Mickey Thompson ET Drags, they are 225/60/15 and look pretty damn normal and are not that tall. They are sticky and hook pretty good, anything smaller like 205/50/15 are to small.

Struggling to put 400 to the floor?

1nastyef 02-27-2015 12:26 PM

Yes on street tires. It struggles. Slicked down an the ass lifted it does quite well

HeikDiesel 02-27-2015 04:09 PM

Sounds like you need tires and a smaller w/g spring to set up your BBG properly

1nastyef 02-27-2015 04:23 PM

i have a 3psi spring but using that i cant get to the 21psi mark using bbg but was able to do so with the 8 psi spring as my base pressure as far as tires i was wrong to think the NTO1s would do better so lookes like a better tire will be my next buy.

AZ_CIVIC 02-27-2015 04:57 PM

Do you have an h2b swap? Does your car have a camo paint job? Just wondering if you are the same EF I raced a couple weeks ago. He had an EF and said he was making the identical numbers you made.

LS-S DA9 02-27-2015 05:23 PM

First post says Integra lol. He's referring his db7..

AZ_CIVIC 02-27-2015 05:31 PM

Got it.

AZ_CIVIC 02-27-2015 05:32 PM

You said you hooked well at the track, what kind of times did you get?

1nastyef 02-27-2015 05:48 PM

all i have stated is what it makes on the gate...and i said i have slicks for the track. havent gone yet. just tested it on the street with vht and this is my 2000 integra sedan. the hatchback was stolen on christmas of 2011

AZ_CIVIC 02-27-2015 06:01 PM

I see, are you trying to get a top 10 list going like OKC and the 405 Street Outlaws but an import version LOL.

Hope you find what you're looking for to hook on the streets.

1nastyef 02-27-2015 06:05 PM

Lol definitely not but but was not going that far without truck or trailer to play what will break first. So I did it in a neighborhood where construction has gon as far as making streets an sidewalks lol

Jason.AZ1 02-28-2015 09:26 PM

Get Blox drag coilovers for the rear.
Take Az-civic suggest for tire and lsd
Traction bar would be nice and make sure alignment is on point.
Control that right foot.

If you got money to spend Pinky then order the T/C from hondata that with bbg you'll do nicely.

king06 03-01-2015 01:56 AM

Didn't read all so, do you have an LSD?

BFG drag radial did good for us, no boost by gear 470 to the wheels.

Koopa Troopa 03-01-2015 04:51 AM

Yeah, your first move should be to buy a LSD. You aint gonna hook for shit trying to put 376whp through one fucking tire.

kguerrero 03-01-2015 02:41 PM

What you need is Jesus.

Chuck Chainz 03-01-2015 02:52 PM

Powered by Jesus with a Manuel transmission? :drive:

1nastyef 03-01-2015 06:16 PM

Me Jesus has been helping me with suspension settings all damn day. it's getting better.

kguerrero 03-01-2015 08:29 PM

No Juan can help you but Jesus.

cbaracing 03-02-2015 02:02 PM

its just an old farmtruck :rflmao:

AZ_CIVIC 03-02-2015 02:17 PM

When I saw trying to hook on the streets, hooking good with slicks and VHT, making test hits, all I could think of was the 405. Fastest small tire car in the world!!!!

cbaracing 03-02-2015 02:21 PM

ha ha classic. i do like the show though. some interesting characters and badass cars :drive:

AZ_CIVIC 03-02-2015 03:35 PM

Me too.

CAPTAIN CAAAAAAAVEMAN 03-02-2015 04:47 PM

It really is some entertaining made for tv kinda sorta street racing. Sponsors /product placement all over the place.

I just hate when farmtruck races with the dog.
