b16a coil on plug conversion
So I am looking for more info for coil on plug conversions for the bseries b16a to be exact. I know hondata, aem, t1 have kits and I wondering if certain parts will work with other kits. Like for instance the t1 cam trigger kit work with hondata system. My last setup I was running the s200 and mildly built motor copied from the omniman built dvd in a ef9. I loved the setup but this time around I am wanting to change it up a little and add my touches to the setup and go with a eg6 same engine basically but with y21 trans with a better clutch this time around. There are same thing I want to do different like the clutch, itb's, ignition system.

Are u doing it for looks because performance wise on a mild na setup isnt gonna do anymore then a distributor setup. Most guys run those kits for big power or show queens

I'm pretty sure t1 won't work with hondata.
Stick with s300 and cpr. Simple |
Doing it for both cosmetics and performance, I know its not a common setup for n/a but it beats distributor cap rotor failure, plus I hate dealing with spark plug wire, which is were the cosmetic aspect comes into play I think it just looks a whole lot cleaner. The last time around at was more of a backyard build look this time I want a more cleaner look.

I feel you. I had four igniters and one coil go out on me in four years. Three igniters in the same car, completely stock too.
There's a dude on her, customy8 is his name I believe. His been working on a coil on plug setup that uses the stock ecu. |
It is insanely popular to do a COP conversion in the Miata world ( I just did mine) as the stock wires rarely last more than 30k miles. The stock coils are great till about 350+ whp, but everyone gets tired of replacing the plug wires. |
The t1 cam trigger works with the AEM or Motec stand alone systems. I use the Hondata CPR setup in my car and have not had any issues.

Yeah not planning on making any power like adding turbo I might eventually go with s/c route but not for a while. I am planning on doing more transmission work this time around and gear the whole transmission rather just 1, 3, f.
