Are u shooting in manual mode? more shutter speed cuz they look dark. When I first started I was overexposing pictures; but youll get the hang of it as u play.

S!K TEG 12-11-2011 09:42 AM

sorry for bad grammer, its been owning me all morning

honduh_head 12-11-2011 10:42 AM

until you get used to the camera, i would shoot in A priority and mess with the ISO to get the shot you want.

flushek 12-11-2011 01:47 PM

Actually I find myself shooting in no flash mode for most of my pictures.

S!K TEG 12-14-2011 07:12 PM

Also try to not shoot INTO the sun at first, as you need to adjust your camera to compensate for the fact your "subject" is going to be in shadow, use the sun to light your object. Be conscious of which way light is moving and use it to light your objects up. Keeping lights at say a 45 degree angle off your subject is a good place to start. (think of it this way, if the sun is RIGHT behind you and you shoot something reflective, it will show a sun glare, if you angle 45 degree the sun will go from say your left shoulder, hit the object, and bounce on your right shoulder, without hitting you in the face and destroying your image quality).

Editing Software
My recommendation to start with is light room, then venture to photoshop later. Light room makes it easy to do basic color adjustments, burn / dodge, vignetting, white balance etc. Just basic stuff you would do in a dark room. You can download the demo from . Both images above were made in adobe light room using a raw image from my camera (not JPEG). The majority of my work is done in light room, the stuff i do in photoshop is commonly just removing scratches from paint, scars on peoples skin... etc. I do quite a bit in light room my self. Some people however prefer photoshop, they are both great products!

Wow. Iphone4? That's impressive. What editing software do u use?

nelsmar 02-02-2012 03:35 PM

just about everyone uses Photoshop, and a high percentage also use light room. 90% of my work is done in light room... It costs extra for me to open photoshop :P
