engine ticking at random!?

Ok so.i recently got an ek coupe with a d16y5. I have been driving it around for a while now and. i just noticedrandom tick. its only at like 2k rps and then randomly from there and ocasionally on idle or when I'm barely on the gas. it sounds like its comming from the head . I'm not sure if it needs a valve adjustment. or worse i just wanna fix it before it gets bad . the last owner didn't care to much for maintance so he ran it out of oil and bent a rod . i bought it replaced the piston aand rod and bearings in that cylanderand replaced the head gasket and timing belt also.the engine has 181xxx miles on it and only mods are short ram intake . Everything is there and works properly its pretty stock. i. e:ts my daily and has never been beatenn at all .by me or previous owners . andt

Now you have a bent valve. Im surprised that whoever did the block work didn't bother to look at that particular cylinder on the head to see if there was damage. Bent rod will definately cause an issue on the head in this case.

As far as he said the head was fine did no dammage to the block at all and i looked at the head and they all seem straight. but who knows

You won't always see a bent valve with your naked eye

This. One good way of checking for a bent valve is to put water in the intake and exhaust ports and check for leaking through the valves. I doubt this is good for you since your head is on the block already
