Problems with the eg

As the title says i have a 92 eg si hatch. Ok ima try to keep
this short. and ppl i have researched!> i have read up all the
faqs i can about this subject, so im not another newbie wanting
to be spoon fed....

About 3 months ago it started giving me problems turnning on.
But after the 2nd or 3d time it would jump up and start..
so i ignored it.. up to this day
its been getting worse!! Now its up to the point where it wont
turn on till like the 10th time or more. and only by using the
"STARTER SPRAY".. or else it wont start without it..

Sometimes when i finally get it to start.. it will turn on for like
4 seconds and turn back of!>. but its weird bcause i try 2 give it
gas and it wont respond to me giving it gas, it completely ignores
me pressing the pedal and revs up and down on its own and just
turns on. now its so bad i havent bothered trying 2 start it. im
not even sure if it will..

I honestly been busy with work and havent had a chance and now
i have to look at it because its impossible to start...

I was thinking main relay or fuel pump.. but if any of those 2 went out
would the car still start like it does now? after like the 100th time?

Would apreciate any input, and yes ima go and try 2 c if i can figure
out whats wrong with it by checking the pump and feeling the 3 clicks
of the main relay, but before i went i wanted to c if any of you guys
could lead me to what my problem might be..

Try changing the fuel filter on the firewall first - it could be clogged. If it will eventually start, the timing and ignition are ok, it just isn't getting enough fuel.

I'd suspect the fuel pump. Maybe the fuel pressure regulator.

The thermistor in the water temp sender is what signals the ECU to richen the mixture to start a cold car. You might want to check that too. If the sender isn't telling the ECU that the car is cold, it won't richen the mixture and it will be hard to start.

Does it run well and make power after it starts up?

Runs really good with no problems... Just starting up is where my problem is

Try changing the temp sensor. They are pretty much the same for most Hondas
