battery relocation?
putting battery in the trunk any one?
|
have you ever wired up subs? grab some 4awg wire, run it to the trunk, find a good spot for a ground and pair that w/a battery box and you're good. but you have a hatch, so you should buy a sealed battery so you dont have to worry about "degassing" or whatever its called. and when we gonna hit the canyon fool

"If the battery is inside the passenger (in a hatchback vehicle or in a car with a back seat that folds down), you must use a sealed battery (i.e. Optima). If the battery is being used in the trunk of a vehicle you can use a standard battery but you will need put the battery in a battery box and you will need to provide proper ventillation. Proper ventillation would mean forced air (fan) ventilation from the battery box to the outside of the vehicle. When a standard lead acid battery charges, it produces flammable gases which must be removed from the vehicle to prevent a fire/explosion hazard."......

If you are racing the car, the sanctioning org may look to make those procedures above are followed. Even if you don't race it, for your own safety you should follow those guidelines. |

Costco has the Optima batteries for about $60-$80. I picked mine up about a month ago for like $73. . .I checked these batteries at other places and they were running like $165. So this definatly should help out. . .being you have a Costco card haha
