I cant figure out why mar car isnt starting. I can push start it but it wont crank over with the key. Can anyone give me some help please!!!!?..........

one of ur cables from the key to the starter is fuked up dude ive had that problem before

No. No crank at all. all u can hear is the fuel priming and i turn the key and nothing happens.

did you check the main relay?

No where is that??? sorry for the dumb question but i dont know shit by names i just kno by what it looks like and where it is.

I suggest troubleshooting first instead of throwing parts at the problem,
try the simple fixes, check and double check all your grounds, clean if necessary, check to make sure no wires are loose, check the power wire to your starter, check the harness over at the alt as well, check all fuses check batt voltage |
The main relay is in the fuse panel under the hood on the top right I believe.
it is a black box about an inch by 3/4 of a inch, in that box there will probably be a couple relays but I think the main one is the one closest to the firewall. |
So basically my fuckin wiring is messed up.

no not necessarily, loose wires happen on our twenty year old cars. Check all of the things above before buying any new parts. Relays can range anywhere from 25-70, I don't think your car will prime the fuel pump if the main relay is out though. Still check through all of the things above first. It blows when you go to get your car fixed and the tech takes a look and fixes one wire that you overlooked.

first of all, if a main relay goes out, puch starting it doesnt work either. secondly, it sounds like its just something wrong with the ignition switch.....
by the way, the main relay on a crx in under the dash on the driver side, its a 3 inch long black box....... |

either run a push button start,Or the fat black wire with yellow stripe on the ignition switch is the one for the starter,Run a wire from that straight to the starter

you either need a new starter, a new ignition switch, or a new starter wire.
go to autozone and buy a remote starter wire, it's a button that hooks to your starter, buy one, follow the directions, if it cranks the starter you have a bad ignition switch. |

I kno for a fact its not the starter i got a new one. It could be one of the other 2 and someone told me it might be my clutch switch.....

but just because you have a "new" starter, doesn't mean it's good. |
wait the dudes got a good point, check the clutch switch. my friends broke on his ef and he spliced the wires on the switch and sure enough, that was it. i would look into that

somebody needs to make a sticky for cars that don't start. a list of what to troubleshoot, in a logical order.

CRX's were notorious for having ingnition issues. I simply by-passed mine and have never had 1 issue with it since. you get a push button toggle run a power from battery to toggle and a power from starter to toggle and start your car if that is whats wrong. cheap and easy fix. BUT they also are notorious for the ignitors going out in the distributer. I would check but. If an ignitor is out all you will do is crank crank crank and the tach will jump around GL
