built b16 or lsv?
o right i am considering a fully built b16 or lsv.......what should i do? and why?
and if i go fully built b16 what internals should i use? |
stock lsv as in b16 head and ls bottom end? i say fully built lsv it will leave any all motor b16
You can build an LSvtec for pretty cheap man, more displacement and stroke then a B16. And if you are fully building both it should only be a few hundred dollars to get an LS bottom-end and it has WAY more potential
agreed ls-v has more displacement and more potential i was in the process on building one but lost my job
yup ^^^ i built my lsv for wayyyy cheaper than i could have a B16 and it will smash B16s when i get it in
do an ls-v. LS block can take a serious beating ;)
I say build a nice little B16,
people will be like wtf when you beat them. Almost no one ever builds them so it'll be fun racing other's with larger motors and smashing on them... |
^^^^jason,jason,jason ls-vtec ftw!!!!!!!
I know I know but b16 can be fun. ;)
that would be cool to do but your gonna spend twice the money and it doesnt have near the potetional. you can pick up a used ls block and b16 head for less than a b16 longblockand lets say just for an example you put 4 grand into both motors the B16 will be out performed everytime.
True I'm not fighting that, just a built b16 would be cool
i got you not trying to jump on you either just said it for the sake of arguement lol
^^^jason likes to be rare...bump for a good guy with good taste...:hello:
Fuck honda! A 427 in a EF shell would be sooo fucking fast if it would grip!
but since this is a Honda site, lsv ftw. |
ok so what interlas should i use on the lsv? like what pistons, rods, cams etc....
run a type R internal! but there are many combo, mix n match, option u can do.
i would personally run type r pistons and rods with a good set of buddy club or skunk 2 cams. fast DD on 91 octane
I ran b16 pistons in mine with type r cams and it was a really fun car to drive. I could stomp on b16 hatches all day. now b16 turboed hatches was a diff story.
ok do you know anyone that has a machine shop? and what should i do to the block:clap:
Darton Sleeves, just in case you want to turbo in the future
84.5 mm Endyne Roller Wave 11.5 compression pistons Eagle Rods heat coated bearing stock crank send your head to Joe Aninez get the stage three race head port, polish, three angle valve job Titanium valve spring/ retainers Skunk 2 pro one cams Edelbrock intake manifold 66-68mm throttle body Hytech replica header 2.5 inch exhaust Cold air intake Hondata s300, have Xact or locash tune it 220 WHP daily driver. Or stock ls motor 1000 to piece together a used turbo kit Hondata s300 Xact or locash dyno on 10 to 12psi 280WHP |
how much money do you have to spend?
B16 sleeved with 89mm stroker crank with 84mm pistons. done.
then you can say you have a built B16 and really, you'll have a 2.0 monster. And if your broke, ls block, type r pistons, b16 head and be done with it. |
well im not a baller but ima do it little by little you know im looking for a ls block right now.....so yeah but i want my shit to be quick you know but street legal....and i just dont want to slap them together i want a built motor |
y not go turbo b16 hehe but if your staying all motor then lsvtec ftw i had one b4 i went boost it was hella fast buddyclub stage 4 cams were awesome
see the thing with turbo is thats it catches too much att. i wanna keep that kind off att from my hatch |
Street legal? Just get two year tags right before you build.
And I say built b16 for the surprise factor. |
i would say do an 86 x 89 bore with buddy club stage 4s or skunk 2 stg 2s and ctr pistions 200+ FTW i was gonna do this before i decided to go boost
^^^^^ok should i port and polish the head too^^^
i would
yeah im gonna go look at a ls block maybe tomorrow so how would i know if its a good block or not?
they want a bill for it |
