dyno in Tucson?

I have been out of the car scene for awhile now, but I'm getting a motor together and I'm gonna need some dyno time soon. I really dont want to drive all the way to Phoenix just for a couple hours of dyno time. Is there even a dyno in Tucson anymore?

ilovemy-eg9- 08-25-2009 12:58 PM

i think collective does..
not 100% sure thoough

BDD 08-25-2009 02:18 PM

j-dizzle 08-25-2009 02:22 PM

97_teggy 08-25-2009 02:34 PM

BDD 08-25-2009 03:46 PM

so addicitve is on prince now. I need to get out more, lol

really? is that for a dyno pull or per hour?

It's good to know there still someone with a dyno in T town. I thought I was s o l for a minute

locash 08-28-2009 09:55 PM

There isn't anybody with a good dyno in Tucson.. :) There's a reason that people make the journey to Phoenix to see me!

The dyno next door to collective is an older piece of junk that doesn't work very well, from what I am told..

BDD 08-29-2009 04:07 PM

yeah I'm tuning the car myself so it would be alot easier for me to just use one here in town

turbo4dr 08-29-2009 04:26 PM

info on this dyno?

GOTTRQ? 08-29-2009 05:02 PM

Mechanic Worx on 22nd and Swan. Brett and Brad English. Good guys. This is where I go for dyno time. The Dyno is only about a year old aswell.

whitegato1488 08-30-2009 04:10 PM

do you know if they program hondata s200?

locash 09-01-2009 01:55 AM

They aren't a Hondata dealer, so I doubt they have the equipment to tune the S200.. Gottrq has a Mustang anyway, lol.. What kind of dyno do they have, gottrq?

GOTTRQ? 09-01-2009 02:10 AM

No, they don't. If you want a Honda specific dyno tune done, go to Locash. Nobody in town specifically tunes Honda's.

It's a brand new Dynojet. Doesn't give you a "feel good" number like others though. I've dyno'd on both their dyno, and IA's Mustang dyno. The numbers were VERY similar.

jsk314 09-01-2009 02:27 AM

what were the numbers

GOTTRQ? 09-01-2009 11:13 AM

On my car? 199 rwhp with a bone stock motor on the Mustang dyno, and 204 rwhp with an intake on the Dynojet. Now the car makes about 400 rwhp on the same Dynojet with the built motor.

BDD 09-01-2009 02:32 PM

thanks for the info gottrq.

GOTTRQ? 09-02-2009 01:17 AM

No problem.

whitegato1488 09-18-2009 03:44 PM

i swear i just say a place off of prince and oracle

crash lander 10-27-2009 09:49 PM

Damn I know this is kinda old but, if your tuning yourself....what tuning software are you using? You can always street tune and then fine tune on the dyno.

Hello, I'm the owner of IA Performance and wanted to put a things things straight in this forum post.

Yes, we used to own Tucson's only All Wheel Drive and Load baring dyno (eddie current, great for tuning). In an attempt to stave off the slowing finances of Tucson, and just about everywhere else we opted to do a dramatic downsizing. This included selling off our dyno and other heavy equipment. The dyno sold to a shop in Buffalo, NY. We've flurished through this past year due to that pivotal decision. Sink or swim, we opted to swim :) We still offer Service, Maintenance, and Performance upgrades for Subarus as well as select other brands. This includes Tuning Support for Subaru as well, we still own the tuning software.

2 brothers on 22nd currently operates Tucson's only 2wd Dyno Jet that we are aware of. Similar to Addictive, we have no affiliation with them. We'ven referred every 2wd Dyno car their way since our down sizing and have not heard anything negative about them. Feel free to contact them driectly with any questions. To find them we have gone to and looked up Automotive Dyno owners. They are listed as Mechanix Works, or something of that nature.

We have never had ties with Addictive racing. We are 2 completely different companies with no affiliation what so ever. Last I heard they moved to Prince/Oracle in a red/white 2 story building just West of that intersection on Prince. Last I heard their dyno made the move to Prince, and then dissappeard. I'm not sure where it went, but the Pit was filled with concrete last I was told (meaning dyno was gone). Any questions for addictive would be best dealt with by them as I do not want to get any information incorrect.

in the end we wish every Speed Shop in Tucson good business for years to come.

Stephen Clark
