1st automatic Honda for me
I will add more pics of bigger items added. Comments/questions/criticism are welcome. Last updated 7/28/14.
Back at the end of Feb. I bought my 1st auto Honda. An 06 EX CR-V. The super low mileage was one reason for getting it. This was taken as I drove away from the 1st owners home with it for the trip home. Here are some pics from the ad for the "before" pics. And have to show off the sweet steering wheel cover that I removed before I was off the guys block. So anyways, brought it home, parked it away and proceeded to change all the fluids and other maintence. Then started adding the accessories as it only had the OEM front mud flaps, after door edge guards and a pin stripe which has grown on me. Started with hardwiring the Escort MAX radar with custom mute box, hardwiring the Garmin and adding the Scan Gauge as well. Also to make the driver seat a bit better I found a brand new discontinued OEM accessory storage armrest for a steal. It can be adjusted to different positions unlike the stock one and storage space is always nice. |
Then I added in a cargo lamp from a CRX into the back as I had plans of getting the OEM accessory cargo cover, (cover now aquired). With the rear door open and the cover closed you couldn't see what was on the floor. The bulb has now been changed to an LED. Both the door has to be open and the switch on the lamp turned on for it to work so it can not be accidently left on.
Then it was off to fix the glove box lamp as it stayed on when the headlamps were on. Bothered the shit out of me. Anyways, I hope the pics explain the story. If someone wants more pics or an explanation let me know as the same lamp is used on many Honda's. The unmodded lamp in the pics is out of a 94-97 Accord and is the same as the 02-06 CR-V. Bracket/striker on top, unmodded lamp middle and modded one on bottom. Stock Fixed. Close up of lamps. All fixed. |
Added factory side steps in black. Got those brand new for a steal, ($126.00 shipped to my door.) I'm happy.
Got a brand new 1/2 bra, front ashtray and front cig lighter off the Portland CL while I was up there from one seller. I'm an accessory whore if you couldn't tell by my Lude. Also ordered up the factory accessory driving lamps. Got those working with the high beams and also with just the parking lamps. Stock they only worked with the low beams and that sucked. Then added in some Hella Horns as I've done with many of my Honda's. Pic from a distance. |
If anyone cares, here is a list of what's been done so far and bought since purchase. Also there is a few things listed at the bottom I have plans to do yet. I will keep this updated and change it as things change.

Great for a family car
|
No family. Just the dog and I. Couldn't stand the size of the Del Sol anymore.
I've previously had a 94 Accord EX wagon 5spd and an 00 EX CR-V 5spd for just myself as dd's. |
nice man I really love how detailed you are to the small items
|
I love it. It's exactly what I would do if I ever get one of these bad boys
|
Gota love the crv! Nice work
|
Lets have babies lol Omg i love that you are a an accessory whore. It looks great, but where did the sol go? |
Expect nothing less from the OEM master
:autored: |
Thanks guys.
No kids EVER for me! I came into this world and someone changed me. I'll probably go out with someone different changing me once again. I'm not changing anyone or anything between that time. Lol Had the Sol listed on 3 FB pages for a total of 6 days. Sold to a guy who drove over/down from LA area. We have plans to meet up next year for Eibach. He's taking that and I'm taking the Lude. Call it as it is, I'm a whore for OEM accessories or ones that make it perform or function better. |
With the signature Hella horn touch
|
Plan to keep it till about 200K. Have done that with almost all my Hondas as well. Being a Lude owner, door sills have kinda been a "thing". Here's the ones on the CR-V. Front. Rear. Also pictured is the OEM Accessory rear ashtray in the door. Got those to go along with the OEM accessory cargo trim. Also pictured is the random Toyota cargo net. |
I have a few. Scan Gauge II's (Lude under radio) Hella Horns 1 of the 2 on the Lude. Receiver Hitches with an "H" plug Custom install of the Escort Here's the box in the Lude. And also window visors. The 1st gen CR-V and Accord wagon had eBay ones. The Lude has the JDM accessory ones. This CR-V and the 8th gen Civic have WeatherTech. The Del Sol couldn't have any and my other previous Accords had Vent Shade stick on ones. I could have got OEM ones for this "V" as they are available as a US accessory but I liked the look of the WeatherTech ones better. Plus way easier to install. |
I felt so Weird the first time buying an auto Honda, but lately that's turned into all I have :-(
|
It was different but since the Sol is now gone, I've been working on getting the Lude back on the road after sitting like this for over a year. I do miss shifting.
It's finally back on the ground now. Just need to finish dialing in the ride height, put a headlamp back together and back in, and put the front bumper on. Then off for an alignment and some new tires as these are just getting old. |
why happened to the prelude tha made you take it apart?
|
The left rear coilovers was leaking. And since they were so old, (2005-2006), F&F didn't rebuild them anymore. So........
I did all new coilovers, all new OEM lower control arms, new OEM sway bar end links and OEM bushings front and rear, valve adjustment, OEM valve cover gasket set, ( v/c gasket, spark plug o-rings and v/c grommets), OEM distributor o-ring, OEM oil filter adapter o-ring, new battery, new OEM exhaust gaskets, polished some parts, painted headlamps a bit due to condensation as they were retroed back in 05/06. New OEM front wheel well splash shields and under engine shield, new spark plugs, OEM fuel filter and changed all fluids with OEM stuff, (coolant, trans, brake, power steering, clutch). Some interior stuff and other stuff I can't remember at the moment I'm sure. I'm an OEM whore in general. Everything from Honda please. |
You should open up a Honda resto shop if you're able to still source so many proper parts lol
|
I remember seeing it back at the Cheeba Hut on 07/08. Think its awesome you're keeping it going with such detail
How long have you had it? |
I've had the Lude 10yrs now. It's been basically the same now for about 8yrs. I did go to Cheba but that was in 2010 as I didn't live here until Jan 2010 although the car was transported down in Aug. 2009 by a friend who stored it until I moved south. Here is a few pics from that. |
Installed a hitch and the wiring today. Also changed out the license plate lamp bulb for an LED. Pic shows the chrome OEM exhaust tip and the 2" OEM hitch plug cover from the Pilot and Ridgeline.
|
Well just got back from a 12 day, ruffly 6,000 mile trip with it. Still need to add up mileage and what not. While gone, I finally got it tinted the way I had wanted and also got the WeatherTech Vent Visors on. Here is a couple pics to compare. It previously was 35% on the front which was old and the factory stuff on all the rear. Now has 20% up front and 5% over the factory stuff on the rear and moonroof.
Was. Now. Was. Now. Drivers seat shot from the trip. Passengers seat relaxing view. (Slide seat all the way forward, remove headrest and lay it flat. Then recline the back seat. Add some pillows and your good to go.) Had some good food while at the Car Craft car show stop in St. Paul, MN |
|
What the fuck is this shit?! Needs more Miata! :autored:
|
Wow I remember your lude back in the day!
|
The bars over the headlights are awesome! It's just such a weird angle compared to what you'd traditionally see with a brush guard.
|
Here ya go then, just for you.
Still have that car as well. Last pic I tool of it back last spring. I agree. I believe the reason though is so they follow they lamps and they have an odd shape. |
Got my cross bars on and yakima basket, finally. Also had a new windshield installed. Had the entire thing tinted 80% with a 20% strip up top. Didnt want to go too dark across the top as I have emergency strobes mounted up there and wanted them visible durning the day.
Also got my Form Fit hood deflector from Canada and only use the corner pieces of the OEM bra now when the weather is decent. Still need to get the 5, 05-06 RSX-S wheels for it refinished. I currently own 14 of the same rims for some reason. Either gonna go 225/60R17 or 215/60R17 Geoloander's on them. Also did a full brake job. I have to say they did a great job while in Colorado in the mountains recently. Also recently picked up a brand new set of OEM headlamps for $118.00 shipped for the pair. Couldnt pass it up as just 1 retails for close to $400.00. Now starting to look at projectors and shrouds for a Bi-Xenon projector retro fit. |
