Koni vs Tokico vs KYB

Either Koni or Tokico. IMHO KYB is trash. And yes I have expierence first hand with all mentioned. The GR2 are REALLY garbage. Nothing but an OEM replacement. You get what you pay for.....Nuff said.

Oh,and Blues are trash too. On a slammed car they will really blow ass. they are also more or an OEM replacement shock, not designed to go low............food for thought.I installed Illuminas on my friends EJ1 8 YEARS ago,and he has never had an issue with them. And he is pretty damn low as well.....Mhy KYB's exploded after only one year with a damn Pro Kit drop, and I installed Blues on another friends car. They suck.

best to worst in this order

Koni Yellows-285$ shipped (per pair!)
Tokico Illuminas-421$ shipped
Kyb agx-385$ shipped
Kyb gr2-195$ shipped
Tokico Blues-286$ shipped

The yellows, illuminas, and agx all have adjustable damening. Koni's have a lifetime warranty, and many people swear by the koni / gc combo, which would be similar to what you have seeing as the megan and gc coilovers are both "sleave" coilovers. I intalled a set of illumina's / gc on a buddy's dc4, and they are very quality struts. He has done many many many autoX/track events and no problems whatsoever. I used to have the kyb agx on an ek, and honestly I did not feel a difference in damening between full soft/hard (I think there were either 6 or 9 diff settings), but I think they had close to 20k miles and weren't blown when I took them off. Lastly, the gr2 and tokiko blues are simply OEM replacements.

Thanks for all the replys, i was reading up on them but in all the reviews nobody was lowere more than 2.25". So im probably gonna go with the illuminas. I wanted the yellows but damn....600$ shock!!

Yep,what this dude said. I personally am a fan of the Illuminas. Can not be beat for the price, and they last a long time. The Koni's though, are worth EVERY penny of that $600 price tag.
