if the noise comes from around the belt check for the idlers bearing. take the belt off and roll the idler youll hear it right away... other wise x2 need more info on your car

its 95 integra ls b18b1. just an intake ,exhaust , and tune. 177k miles on it.

i was told it's prob the timing belt slipping?

Obd1_GsR 07-15-2010 01:18 PM

hissing or whistling??

90SiR 07-15-2010 01:20 PM

Sounds like your t-belt tensioner or idler pulley from what i heard in the car.

it sounds like a dry bearing @ high speed

Obd1_GsR 07-15-2010 01:21 PM

No way the timing belt is slipping it would have jumped timing and you would be in some trouble

markieg6 07-15-2010 01:44 PM

your intake ?

95.ls.teg 07-15-2010 06:04 PM

hmm. so i might wanna replace those soon?

KeRmEt 07-16-2010 06:41 AM

you have an air leak, it could be your air compressor or govenor

tyrap26 07-16-2010 07:40 PM

x2... and yea bearings could be a prob on the tensioner or idler for the t belt ..
you could take the cover off, get one of those cheap mechanic stethoscope put the end on the bolt youll hear the bearing spin... its either going to be real smooth or crunchy as hell..if its a really loud noise sometimes without removing anything you can pin point where its coming from with the stethoscope...
and i would recommend finding the problem before replacing anything...
any updates? did you get a chance to check it out?

Check all vacuum lines on ur intake mani

smcdonaldaz 07-26-2010 11:30 PM

Could also be the cat getting plugged. How many miles?

RPG2ach 07-27-2010 01:47 AM

It idles fine right? Like, just making sure this aint some weird vacuum leak...That or your accessory belt is shredding? Just check the belts I guess, it would be safer to check/replace all of them rather then slip timing and watch your pistons and valves meet...Btw, pistons and valves hate each other lol

radster69 07-28-2010 04:41 PM

One ? Ru actually moving or just at idle when you hear noise or present,, pm asap would like to help out

eg2/gsr 07-29-2010 04:28 PM

yea it couldnt jump timing or else you could have messed up ur valves. so it could be vacum leak
