wtf is going on wit my engine?
 

alright, earlier this week i started to notice a couple things go wrong.

(1)first of all, when i put my car in gear, and i let off the gas, the idle goes kinda high. the idle goes high also when i take it outta gear sometimes and i have to rev the engine in order to drop the rpms.

(2) second, when i start haulin ass, it seems like my vtec turns on and off. the rpms get to where it turns on, then it goes on, then off.

not sure wtf is going on. anyone have any ideas?

1. throttle plate is probably sticking

2. Sounds like a oil pressure issue, check your oil level or could be a faulty vtec pressure switch or failing oil pump

alright, how do i un-stick the throttle plate with out damaging anything else? ill check the oil..thanks for the ideas soldier!

spray some wd-40 on the springs that pull the throttle plate closed. the take some degreaser and a scotch brite scrubber and clean where the throttle plate meets with the throttle body.

well my oil was low, so that fixed the VTEC problem and the throttle alil bit. once in a while it till gets stuck. ill WD-40 it..thanks!

so does that mean i have to take off my throttle body in order to clean the throttle plate?

no you can spray that shit o nthere with the throttle body on there it wont hurt anything. just get some carb cleaner and an old tooth brush and go to town!
