clutch kit opinion? C.C vs EXEDY stage 1 for daily use
planning on buying a clutch from JHPUSA.com foy my daily b20b crx wit a big spline LS tranny, i do drive some what aggressive on the streets thats it. i will have bolt ons ect. doing N/A no boost.., i want something that will last and a grab good, lots people say exedy....might get a fidanza lightened flywheel as well. the exedy is only about a 20-30$ difference.
:flush: Competition clutch specs- The economical solution for moderately modified cars or simply aggressive individuals with stock power. Offers 40-50% of torque capacity and maintains stock pedal feel. The 2400 Series kit includes a Competition Clutch pressure plate, a 6 pad Carbotic high-torque performance disc assembly, all applicable bearings and the appropriate alignment tool. Exedy specs-The Exedy organic clutch is great for the user who does not want a harsh clutch, but wants a clutch that holds more power than stock for a lightly modified car with more toque capacity. Exedy clutch kit include genuine Exedy pressure plate, Exedy organic clutch disc, Exedy recommended alignment tool, and Exedy recommended release bearing (where applicable). links below_ |
I'd give you my honest solid experienced opinion, but since your just buying it online anyways.... :p

Pm this guy for a best price^^^^^^^^^^^^shipped to your door. Go with oem replacement. You don't need a stage 1,2,3,4,5 or what ever else some dumb ass kid is running because he thinks i'ts a race car. Also getting a lighten flywheel is a waste of money, resurface your stock one and be done. OR get a stage 5 CC and let me know how you like it. /rant |
:goodpost:

I would however get stage 3 mounts from HAsport. Need to harness that power somehow
I got a CC 6 puck stage 1 on mines. I like it but diffenlty had to get used to it
i might go with that, lolbut then exedra looks nice too
Who cares about how it looks when you can't see the clutch anyways.
i wouldnt go with anything more then an act street/performance sprung clutch. no need for so much grabbing force on a pretty much stock engine
i was thinking stage 8 :bolt:
:goodpost:
whats difference from sprung? and unsprung? tell me lol
One is sprung and one is unsprung duh
Lol, that and the spring rates. :drunk2:
Sprung has springs that will absorb some of the shock when you disengage it. Kind of like a potentiometer.
Unstrung doesn't, kind of like an on off switch. Its harsher on the drive train and bearings. |
Lol if he doesn't know what unsprung vs sprung means you think he's going to know what a potentiometer is? Also, that comparison isn't that good. Comparing something with springs to a dial that varies voltage is kinda out there.
you have a point, LOL
I tried my best, if I confused him, well................I thought it was good as compared to an on/off switch. |
Thanks mang :)
Like I said, since its being purchased online anyways, i'll keep my 2c to myself lol:offtopic2: |
AZHT,
where sprung clutches are compared to potentiometers... and here I thought this site was dead lol |
hahahah
The clutch disc that is sprung will absorb some of the shock to your drivetrain (transmission). The unsprung clutch will disengage slightly quicker but will be a little more harsh on the trans, for a daily I wouldn't really recommend an unsprung clutch.. If you don't get the information you're looking for here, just google "Sprung clutch vs Unsprung clutch B series" and i'm sure you'll find plenty of information online..
Lmao.. Really? Nice |
