tps replaced and its still throwing code 7
ok guys i was gonna buy this dx its a 88,they replaced the distributor cap and the rotor and wires and tps and its still throwing the code any ideas it starts but doenst idea and just dies if i give it gas it seems like it wants to idle but nothing, the wiring looks fine what could it be?
|
What code is it throwing? Sounds like a map sensor issue not tps
|
the name of the thread is "still throwing code 7" so i would assume he's throwing code 7.
you have to adjust a tps not just bolt one on. also on a dx if it's been switched to mpfi it needs the two outer wires of the tps harness switched. it will not run otherwise. |
guess he through it on may try and go mess with it later so the angle being off with throw the code ? thanks guys

After replacing a tps it must be calibrated (adjusted). I made this mistake a few times in the past

Code 7 is tps sensor. Try reseting ur ecu unplug ur - terminal for.10 min
