Suspension, Brakes, Energy on EF hatch

koby 12-10-2010 12:34 AM

Nice write up man.. I bet that thing stops on a dime. I drove a standard hatch with almost the exact setup and it was amazing.

chambersef8 12-10-2010 08:44 AM

Good write up, dont see these much on azht.... I need to swap out my bushings too, but not really looking forward to trying get those crusty bastards out.

cbaracing 12-10-2010 10:24 AM

if you want to upgrade the booster and mc to make it even better

90-91 civic ex 15/16ths master and booster

gunsup0331 12-12-2010 01:37 PM

honda MCs have the size stamped on em right?

cbaracing 12-13-2010 12:31 PM

OEM honda ones do
aftermarket ones may or may not

SlowEFSedan 12-14-2010 04:36 PM

nice upgrades slowly doing this to my 91 si hatch

hatch520 12-17-2010 05:12 PM

sweet write im gonna definetly do this to my hatch std aswell
1 question tho do the da front knuckels share the same spline count as the ef si front knuckels?

gunsup0331 12-17-2010 05:29 PM

si yes, std no

hatch520 12-17-2010 05:43 PM

cool cuz i already did the si front knuckels on it and ended up being given the whole brake system off a da a week later
just havent gotten a chance to do it yet lol
thanks for the info and the inspiration!!!

gunsup0331 12-17-2010 05:48 PM

im pretty sure the DA knuckles are a little taller than the Si ones, might want to keep the Si's.
Good news is the DA brakes should bolt up to the Si knuckles. best of both worlds lol

hatch520 12-17-2010 05:51 PM

i thought the da had a little bigger front brakes
and i think the da knuckels are somthing like 1/4 taller than the ef

hatch520 12-17-2010 06:10 PM

yeah 88-91 civics have 9.5 front brakes
and da have 10.3 inch front brakes

gunsup0331 12-17-2010 06:22 PM

i was under the impression the DA brakes would still bolt on
maybe thats the 92+ ex/si

hatch520 12-17-2010 06:24 PM

yeah maybe but there is the 88-91 ex brakes off the sedan that are bigger dont know what size tho

CZappettini 12-20-2010 11:57 AM

sick setup

ILIKETODRIVE 12-20-2010 02:16 PM

It's only 90-91 EX (no such thing as an 88 or 89 EX) and they are 10.3 as well.

The 90-91 EX master cylinder is the larger 15/16th's.

hatch520 12-20-2010 02:20 PM

cool good to know i knew somthing was bigger on em lol

re: Did you try moog bushings?

gunsup0331 01-24-2011 04:45 PM

^looks like an ebay seller from nigeria wroite that. I wasn't away moog made poly bushings for my application. I have moog tie rods on there though

die in a dick fire noob 01-25-2011 09:00 AM

moog doesn't make poly bushings.

that is most def spam.

*inFamous* 01-25-2011 10:59 AM

they actually do, as i sell them at my work :)

they just aren't mainstream.

regardless, that is spam.

die in a dick fire noob 01-25-2011 12:27 PM

pics of poly moog bushings!

i was under the impression they only sold hard rubber replacement bushings.

*inFamous* 01-25-2011 12:51 PM

They honestly look just like Energy stuff. I'll see if I can remember to snap a shot at work next time. I know we have Poly Sway Bar links from moog along with misc swaybar frame bushings.

die in a dick fire noob 01-26-2011 10:45 AM

yeah it's ok i was just fucking with you ravi, i googled it :)

Nachooooosupreme 01-26-2011 10:49 AM

Nice work guns!!

gera 01-27-2011 12:00 AM

op did you have to do an alignment after you did the knuckle swap?
any pulling to one side or anything like that?
