what are specs

hi i was wondering what do the s2ks come with what type of engines do they have k series or h series or i have heard even b or f series let me know

The 2000 to 2003 models caom equipped with a 2.0L F20c 4 cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine that pushes out 240hp @ 8300 rpm and 153lbs or torque at 7500 rpm. The 2004+ models has a modified F20c motor by increasing displacment to a 2.2L called the F22c. It produces the same hp as the F20c but torque has increase from 153 lbs to 163lbs @ 6200 rpm. With this gain in torque the engine lost its revs from 9000 rpm in the F20c to 8000 rpm in the F22c.

The engine has won may awards from 2000 to 2004 it won the "Internation Engine of the Year" in the 1.8L to 2.0L Catagory, and won the "Ward's Best Engine" awar in 2000 and 2001. The Honda s2000 won 1st place in the BBC Top Gear Survey in 2004, 2005, and 2006, finally the Honda s2000 was rated on "Car and Drivers" "Ten Best List" in 2000, 2001, and 2004

If you are going to make it sound like you know what you are talking about, don't make yourself look like an idiot by calling it DOHC-VTECH. :hithead:

blkmrkt 11-06-2007 10:35 AM

might of copied and pasted...

jp8AP1 11-07-2007 12:28 PM

u know what.. i do know what i am talking about... you wouldnt sound so stupid trying to dog on me if u knew what DOHC means!!.. so for u trujdm and u blkmrkt.. here is a quick lesson

ahemm....

DOHC stands for Dual-Over Head Cams... so that means that an engine has two over head cam in it.. for example a F20 or a F22 motor...

so u guys should be kicking ur self in the ass for trying to punk me ...:dumbass:

jp8AP1 11-07-2007 01:11 PM

DOHC - Actually stands for Dual Over-Head Cam not Cams!! If we were an NSX with a C30 or C32 engine we would have DOHCams!!! On all 4cylinder engines we only use 1 cam on the exhaust and 1 on the intake not 2 on the intake and 2 ont he exhaust like the NSX. So technically it is Dual over head Cam.

From Wikepedia:
A dual overhead camshaft (also called DOHC, double overhead cam, dual overhead cam, or twin cam) valve train layout is characterized by two camshafts being located within the cylinder head, where there are separate camshafts for inlet and exhaust valves. Typical automotive engines equipped with dual overhead camshafts can have from two to four camshafts in total, depending on the engine configuration.

Double overhead camshafts are not required in order to have multiple inlet or exhaust valves, but are necessary for more than 2 valves that are directly actuated (though still usually via tappets). Not all DOHC engines are multivalve engines — DOHC was common in two valve per cylinder heads for decades before multivalve heads appeared, however today DOHC is synonymous with multi-valve heads, since almost all DOHC engines have between three and five valves per cylinder, such as in the Toyota Corolla AE86 (16 Valve) or the Toyota Levin BZ-G (20 Valve).

Well, if blkmrkt is correct about you having copied and pasted that blurb, than blame isn't on you. But obviously I wasn't questioning if you knew what DOHC stands for, I was ripping on you for posting something saying VTECH. If your name jp8ap1 signifies that you own an S2000, you should certainly know the difference between VTECH and VTEC, considering it says it in BOLD LETTERS on your spark plug cover(again assuming you own an S2K).
