turbo ef numbers?

hey guys am planing on turboing the hatch by the end of dec. just wanted some opinions on what numbers you think it will make. i willl have my d15b1 mpfi on 8 psi.

built n/a 10-25-2009 01:46 PM

IDK maybe 150hp dont know much on sohc on boost..

jgregg 10-25-2009 02:11 PM

I have a single cam zc block with a d16z6 head. on 8 psi with kenny tunning it . made 197hp. with just a basemap chip it made in the 165ish range.

weak b series wit little mods better

jgregg 10-25-2009 03:44 PM

true I have seen a lot of b series motors with little mods make good power.

mxtr 10-25-2009 03:47 PM

yeah and its more reliable

die in a dick fire noob 10-25-2009 04:01 PM

definitely more reliable than a d15b1... the b1 had weaker valve springs and cam so making anything over 150 i would say would actually be dangerous for the motor.

i know it sucks when you hear stuff like this but you can always boost it, blow it, buy a zc and do it all over again.

really to boost anything it should be built since they're not designed for boost out of the assembly line anyway, add 20 years to that and a ton of miles and you're just asking for a rod through your block.

mxtr 10-25-2009 04:12 PM

i agree man

jgregg 10-25-2009 04:15 PM

very true. I am collecting parts for my sohc to be rebuilt . I have h beam rods , valve springs , and a extra block. my current motor is all stock internally and I have no ambition to push it past 8 psi.

ED6BOY 10-25-2009 11:13 PM

true i will be better getting a b18 then? there selling me on for 400. no tranny with ecu but my question is. what shift links and axels should i use?and are they any cheap mounts or modify mounts i can get cuz i aint got many cash to pay 350 for hassport. lol sorry for my noob questions

bash_ceballos 10-26-2009 02:20 AM

crxhfb16 10-26-2009 08:29 AM

the Hush22 performance CRX

currently make 257hp and 259tq to the wheels with 8lbs on a d16z6

jgregg 10-26-2009 08:56 AM

those are great numbers. my turbo set up is not even close to that nice.....lol

crxhfb16 10-26-2009 09:22 AM

yeah and thats with an ls/vtec turbo tuned chip lol.

jgregg 10-26-2009 09:28 AM

wow

crxhfb16 10-26-2009 09:37 AM

here is the dyno video

please keep in mind that the dyno read 6k at redline when it actually was 8k so add 2k to the final numbers i haven't corrected the video because i didn't want to corrupt the url as it is posted on many sites currently.

90-93 integra axles and linkage but it will need to be shortened, you can find cheap b series mounts on ebay for like 150.

i know several people w d's on low boost ie: 5-8 pounds that made around 200 whp.

1991crxfreak 10-26-2009 08:09 PM

i would expect 175 to 190 on 8lbs maybe not on a b1 but i have a d15b2 with a y7 head my car runs on 8lbs i am satisfied i beat a couple b series crxs

MR. Rex 10-28-2009 10:12 PM

i have a y1 jdm lsd trani for 300 with shift linkage for ef just incase you get that motor!
but i would boost the d15b1 and then buy a d15b vtec and u will slap on b series all day if you can drive!
