How to make a type r carpet diy or vinyl spray paint??
 

Like Title says how to make a type r carpet i was thinking it would look nice on my coupe but i don't know if there's a thread for this yet but i just have a question would it be better to spray painted with vinyl spray paint or just do a diy on in it ive never done this before and would like some info on this thanks!

what color is your carpet now?

If your talking about spray painting carpet I assume you don't have or don't want to spend the 250-300 for an OEM ctr carpet. So I don't think you should be too worked about have red carpet at this time you know? Don't do something shitty just because you don't have the cash, wait until you can do it right.

I was thinking more of a dyi it red but right now is gray but I wont be spray painting it no more thanks guys for the opinions

no im not going to spray paint it i got some red dye and the project starts tommorow i hope it turns out good im gong to be posting up pics for yo guys to see whats happening

Red dye should work. Make sure it drys throughly (24/48hrs) so that it does not stain anything else it touches.

So, um, did It work?

Spray it on with an air powered spray gun.....don't forget the clear coat! :biggrin:

you can mix the dye in a spray bottle and spray the carpet. i think it will take 3 or 4 coats. i was going to do this to dye my blue carpet black.
trying to soak the carpet all at once in a bin or something will be way hard.
