B series help..
ok so this is what i got a ls block a b16a(which is running in my rex now) a rebuilt gsr head a set of p30 pistons. Now question is should i use the p30 pistons in the ls block and use the stock rods and crankshaft. or should i do that to the b16 block. What im trying to do is find ut what the best combination using with what i got to make the most power. please help its my first engine build...thanks
confused. but put the b16 head on the LS block with Very high Comp pistons
x2. im doing the same... well, trying to.. need a vtec head
^^ if you do that id rebuild the bottom end with some aftermarket parts :)
indeed.. i was just gonna use some itr pistons and arp head bolts and call it a day
why arp head bolts
i got those p30 pistons to put in the ls block. and isnt it alot of work to put the b16 head on ls block
theyre super strong bolts to keep the head down for a long time.. id say its a definite must
Its actually a stud. Stock engines use Bolts.
Either way, I'd use the ARP's over stock as well, they're cheaper. Don't forget ARP rod bolts too. |
the box says "bolts & studs" fyi...
do a ls block rebuild the bottomw end with diff pistons and get some block work done as well.
i am doing the same a ls vtec. i got my block bored.honed.decked and itr pistons arp rod bolts head studs a b16 head with ctr cams shoppined ls rods and minor bolt ons and i should put out around 180-200 whp. and in a crx that means power... |
what is shoppined ls rods/honed/decked mean?.. please explain
k. but the fact remains. a stud screws into the block and holds the head down via a nut and washer whereas a bolt is all one piece, you get what I'm saying?
i feel ya
