Ek coupe quarter panel damage question?
1 Attachment(s)
So I just picked this car up and it has a pretty bad dent to the rear passenger quarter panel was wondering whats the best rout to take to fix it. I like to do shit myself, but I want it to come out straight so I'm looking for some good input. anything helps thanks!

If your a beginner then I would take it to a shop.
|
yea I'm a beginner lol I have done some dent pulling and bondo in the past, but this looks like it may need to be cut off and re welded... what kind of price range does something like this run? I dont need paint...
|
Qp remove and replace labor only $600
|
Mexicans with a hammer and bondo 250
|
Oh that isn't bad at all, can you recommend a legit shop?
lmao Im going to try to bang the dent out from the inside. its the fender well that is all jagged.. I dont wanna bondo over this and have a chunk come off after painting it lol |
Yup. Mindless autobody 6024210847

Do yourself a favor and replace the entire panel.

Thank you
Yea that was what I figured I would need to do just wasn't 100% |
Honestly, if you are going to do it your self have patience and plenty of time.
It's an involved process but not very difficult if the frame/ inner structure isn't bent or tweaked. GL |
I wont be doing it myself if there is cutting and welding involved. I don't have the proper tools for a job like that. I'm rebuilding the engine at the moment so when its up and running I will get quotes for the panel repair. Ill update thread as I go, thanks for all the input!
|
It'll be about 6-800
|
engine is rebuilt and running strong. So now I'm going to be getting quotes this coming week and I will update the thread with the shop I use and finished product...
|
So the best quotes Ive got are.
$250 pull and bondo lol $950 re-weld new quarter panel on ... I think im going to try the $250 see how that turns out. I can buy a complete shell for $950 lol |
if you dont want to do it right then why not just leave it as is and cruize it till you find a clean shell?
|
I never said I didn't want it done right, 3 of the 6 shops I went to and got quotes didn't even want to touch it because It wasn't a insurance claim. And I'm not paying $1,000 labor + parts that's ridiculous. I started this thread to see if there was a way to pull it myself. there wasn't. But if a shop can get it straight $250 sounds a hell of a lot better than $1300. looking at it it really isn't that bad in person...
