headwork/valve seals

not long ago i had my head(p75) on a b20 resurfaced for a headgasket replacement. there is shavings from the machining in the head so i want to take it to get jet washed(big dishwasher thing not hot tank). i called two shops and got contradicting info.

when i called pete kelly's auto from what they told me it would be $20 and its safe to have the engine washed with the valves installed(said they always do it that way) and that my valve seals would be fine. this will take 30 mins

however when i called a second shop Hempelman's and they said it would be 250 for a valve job and washing because they wont wash it with the head assembled and the seals HAVE to be changed. this will take 3 weeks

my question is which is the correct info.
