stutter and check engine light
 

so, out of nowhere, the check engine light comes on this morning, and as im driving, i accelerate. however, when i get to 5100 rpms, the engine starts to stutter. no, when i stopped at the gas station for a coffee, i restarted the car and had no check engine light or stutter at 5100 rpms.

what could be the problem? just wondering before i take it to get the codes read

vehicle- 1999 honda civic

255000 or so miles
all stock

my guess is it needs plugs wires cap and rotor

but really there is no way to internet guess and why in holy trinity are you taking a 255k y6 engine to 5100 rpms?

go get the codes and come back with what they are

Always problems w single cammers taking their engines to 5100rpm smh

Figure out if you have any pending codes and then it will give something to work with

because thats what happens when i need to get around people on the highway.
