It's 2015!

I took off the last month of '14 with intentions on fucking UP 2015. Today it begins for me.
:wizarddragon:

Spec C 01-05-2015 11:17 AM

Good luck. Nothing is more important than consistency.

Shit is ramping up for me. I am like 6.5 weeks out from my next meet. Supposed to squat 585 today.

usdm420 01-05-2015 11:19 AM

BINGO! I'm simply refocusing after a SLOPPY SLOPPY 6 months to end '14. I was so all over the place it wasn't even funny.

Good luck on your upcoming Comp though. I know prepping for that kind of shit makes my regular training look like some bitch shit Jazzercise crap lol

Not sure what I want to do for this year, I got a new roommate who is into the meal prep and cut/bulk stuff pretty well. That will help me stay disciplined in my dieting.

I guess I will just try to strengthen and maybe work on improving my core

Bruticus 01-18-2015 03:03 PM

I've added this to my arsenal

@ sprouts for $20

SiR Mikey 01-19-2015 07:06 AM

Why not buy flax seed? You can buy a big box for a few bucks, has pretty much the same ratio of omega 3 and 6, and also has a little protein as well.

Bruticus 01-19-2015 03:33 PM

who says I haven't? but chia oil has 13% more omega 3 than flax oil (what im after) and I got this because the amount if chia seeds you have to consume to get the amount I need is insane, it's not like i'd be going thru one of these every other day.

failedabortion 01-21-2015 06:10 PM

Haven't set any goals yet for this year...fail

Working on my weak areas while recomping.

Would like to get my standing overhead press to 1x bw, bench 1.5x bw, deads 2.5x bw and squat 2x bw.

Bw is currently 199lbs and leaner than when I got down to 180lbs last year.

usdm420 01-22-2015 07:42 AM

Damn man, 199 pounds standing OHP? That would definitely be some beast weight man. Good luck!

Spec C 01-22-2015 09:44 AM

Good luck fa. You did well last year, keep it rolling.

I hit 195 x 10 for 2 sets yesterday. Heh I'm decent at overhead pressing.

Also hit 305 x 10 close grip bench after overhead which is a pr.

This week I should be putting up some big numbers which all should be PR's.

usdm420 01-22-2015 12:04 PM

God damn Spec, that's some weight.

I still need to get down there for just one session with you so you can guide me on a few things so I can carry it over to my lifting up here.

Spec C 01-22-2015 04:52 PM

i am down. I am sure we can force Mikey to make an appearance.

Bruticus 01-23-2015 12:01 AM

5x5 is a straight forward program that can help you get your strength moving in the right direction

here are my personal bests from last year in a 90 day session of doing 5x5

ass to grass squat 445 5x5 & 500x2
Bench 285 5x5 & 335x1
deadlift 445 5x5
OHP 185 5x5
pendlay row 240 5x5

here is me doing 500# 1 time

failedabortion 01-23-2015 02:13 AM

Thanks man! it's only 55lbs above my current x3 pr so should be doable I think.

Thanks spec! Break ups make great motivation lol, which pretty much turned into discipline and a lifestyle.

Still kind of following a full body routine 3-4x a week. Usually with one low volume high intensity day and high volume medium intensity de load days.

Good job! I usually can't put up any good bench numbers after ohp lol.

failedabortion 01-23-2015 02:16 AM

Damn pretty beastly!

Spec C 01-23-2015 07:15 AM

Bruticus 01-23-2015 09:16 PM

Come on, bro. Just say it, you're fat.

anyway, that video is from 2013. i have a much wider stance now and have lifting shoes.

Spec C 01-23-2015 09:50 PM

LOL.. Big legs is a compliment.

I was just judging what I see/description of video. You handled the weight well, looked really stable/tight. Get a new video up.

You ever compete or think about it?

Bruticus 01-23-2015 10:34 PM

my brother was pushing me for an event for spring 2014 but my job started offering 1800-2300 a week and I couldnt say no. At my weight I wouldnt be competitive with those lifts.

Spec C 01-23-2015 11:06 PM

You would be surprised. Sirmikey will tell ya. He said the same thing but at the local level you'd be competitive. Even more so if you geared your training more towards prepping for a meet and peaking.

What do you weigh?

Either way, solid lifting. Putting 500lb on your back is nothing to sneeze at. :)

Bruticus 01-23-2015 11:29 PM

320 currently at around 32% bf

And thanks for the kind words

SiR Mikey 01-24-2015 08:00 AM

Lol I said that same last line dude. It's really not about being competitive though. Just like spec told me, it's about validating your lifts and constantly striving to beat previous PRs. It's a lot of fun, I think you'd really enjoy it and be surprised by how the events run. No one cares what class you're in or how much, or how little weight you're pushing. Everyone there just want to see you do your best.

1badLst 01-28-2015 04:16 PM

I've started doing crossfit....I really like doing kipping pullups. I feel like it's the only workout I even need. Do you guys do crossfit? You guys should do crossfit because crossfit is good. Does anyone want to see my snatch?

usdm420 01-29-2015 09:56 AM

Shit man....I fuck shit up in the arched back deadlift competition. You should see my kipping DL with 155 pounds. Shit's beast.

1badLst 01-29-2015 10:15 AM

BRUH.........Kipping deadlift 155 is no joke. Keep it up. We should totally WOD together sometime. Can you spot me on my handstand kettlebell swings?

Fix.it.again.Tony 01-29-2015 10:20 AM

you guys got it all wrong

pirouetting rows with a half twist to really sculpt those obliques

usdm420 01-29-2015 10:28 AM

The handstand wall flop is my 2nd fav

usdm420 01-29-2015 12:00 PM

Spec C 01-29-2015 12:34 PM

Nice work man! You will look beastly in the 220's.

usdm420 01-29-2015 01:13 PM

Thx man, if my fat ass ever gets there lol
Then again I sat at 275 for 5-6 months before as well before dropping 25 pounds. But I think the slower, the better.

Still need a crash course on proper squatting and deadlifting. Need to get with you one of these weekends. I'll keep in touch about that.
