Engine swap into a 3rd gen Civic??
 

Haven't seen much talk and nothing turned up with any other site. My brother in law has a 1984 Civic DX chillin in his back yard. Stock everything and the engine has a bent valve. We were going to replace the head for a couple hundo and just have a great MPG car for him to drive back an forth to work. He also has a D16zc SOHC VTEC motor, trans, and ecu from god knows what that was going to be swapped to a 4door 93 that has since been sold (the car). We were wondering the possibility of swapping the D16 into his civic?? I have a couple friends that have done swaps with Honda's before but they haven't heard anything on the older cars. Most info we've found are on '88 and newer.

On a side note. I've seen d17z6, y8, and all sorts of d16 motors. But never seen/heard of a d16zc that was a d16 sohc VTEC motor. Was this a frankenstien motor?

Thanks for all the help guys! If its recommended that we take this to someplace to get it done by all means let me know! But as long as its possible he REALLY wants to motor swap this car. (i dont know why) :poke:

That is a Stock motor in Japan, It is a ZC Vtec, came in the 92-95 civics OBD1.
