Fixing a Friend's Accord ...

Okay so I'm gunna be fixing up my friends accord. It is completely stock but she doesn't really maintain it at all... she's mobbing the f22b2

I will make an additional post in the project thread of the fixing of the problems.

I am just getting into cars more and more, and want to work on them. But since I'm new I'm in need of a little help with these issues.

1st She has had her car since January, said maybe changed oil once, she doesn't :smackself: now. With this she has an oil leak, I haven't got to look at it good yet to see where, but I pulled the spark plug wires to see it running hot (burning the rubber housing to the spark plug connector)....I find OIL on cylinder 4, was baffled, pulled three and it was like drenched and squishy noise when pulled out. I didn't go on to more cause it was dark and I'd rather take a whole day to do it. What could cause oil to be in that spark plug area? is my first question. Headgasket?

2nd She has CEL I don't know codes or anything, gunna take it to autozone n have them check then will post.

Really wondering about first question hopefully someone has some input!

Ok, your saying you have oil on the ends of the plug wires themselves, not on the plug, correct? If the wires themselves are drenched in oil, and there is oil down the spark plug tube, chances are the valve cover gasket and tube seals are toast. Just get a valve cover gasket set from the auto parts store, it should come with tube seals.

Correct sir. But I haven't pulled the spark plugs yet, thats next when I get the car. But okay cool that should be too hard. Maybe ill paint her valve cover so she can have a little customization to her life.
