can't go lower than 220lbs....
I started off at an avg. 300lbs down to avg. 225lbs.; the lowest I get is to 220 but I can't go any lower.
I'm trying to hit 180-190lbs, I'm 5'9". My day goes as planned: 9:40am wake up 10/10:30-11am walk Run for about 2 minutes. Do some push ups and sit ups mixed with some excrise machine that works out my upper body. By 11:30/12 I stop and rest till 1pm 1pm I either blend oatmeal with milk (every other day add an egg) or a can of tuna fish. 3-4pm either tuna fish, chicken, or salad 5-10 school (don't eat, just water) 10pm small bowl of fiber cereal or nothing at days. To drop from 300lbs to 225lbs, I cut out soda, candy, fast food (subway every in a great while) and carbs like bread. Any advice on dropping the extra 45lbs. Because what I'm doing isn't working anymore. |
drop the dairy. and whats this fiber cereal your eating? I don't think your weight training is adequate enough honestly. Instead of oatmeal just have 4- egg whites and 2 whole eggs or something of that sort. Make like an omelet out of it. Add onions, peppers, etc etc. Take some almonds or walnuts with you to school and eat those as well. you are fasting for way to long man.

Yes. My suggestion is to create a more detailed diet plan and follow it. Getting from a very high bf, to a lower bf is easy with basic changes like you have made, but once you get down lower it becomes more difficult. Without a calculated, consistent, and detailed plan it becomes hard to know what changes are BEST to make.
Lay something out and follow it, then make changes based on results. |
Eat more protein throughout the day. Nuts, beef jerky, eggs, fish, and gnc protein supplement drinks. I did that for a few months along with working out a couple times a week and loss a few pounds along with losing 3 inches around my waist. I was pretty happy with the outcome and ive stayed on a similar diet since. And dont forget cardio is a must Everyday if you really wanna lose weight and get fit. Go to gnc or another reputable health n fitness store and see what products go with your body and the body that you want. Good luck

I think professional help will get you to were you need to be. It would help to have someone make a specific meal plan for you, take your measurements and take you through real excersices. What part of town are you in? |
How would I go about making a detailed deit plan? I know if I can make a plan I could stick with, just don't know where or how to get started.
The cereal I eat is Kellogg's fiber one. Eating at school is kinda hard for fact we get 2 10 min. Breaks but I'm always in class doing homework or projects; plus no food allowed in class, but ill try that almond idea. I live in west Phoenix. |
I might give that a try.

Spec is good at making meal plans. I dont know ifhe charges but I'm sure he wouldnt charge much if he did. Send him a private message and see what he'll do
|
Ill pm him, Thanks man.

I downloaded a fitness app to help with calories and keep a plan.
If I wokout the way i am for 6days a week by July 7 I should be in 197lbs, but I must eat a minimum of 1570 calories a day to keep my metabolism working. Are the diet app any good? Either way ill give a try. |
That's a little unrealistic. Dont get so caught up in the number. I'm 5'10 197 which is considered seriosuly overweight. |
For real? Wow. What should I focus on then?
Ill be truning this thread in a journal/ note thread. I read up a little in my pharmacy / Med book. If I do strength work outs, it will build muscle over my fat which is known as bulk. Correct me if I'm wrong. So, I should focus on cardiovascular work out as stated before. Ex.: walking, sprinting, boxing, and what else? I currently don't have a punching bag but I'm keeping my eyes open for one (I'm on a budget). |
I like HIIT training. It's believed to burn more fat than slaving away on a treadmill. Google it and read up a bit. Like I said, go off of the mirror not the scale. My pictures are on the gym progress thread if you want to see what I look like. I did virtually no cardio to lean out.

Hiit? Just making sure it isn't s type o
|
yes
|
I found a few hiit videos and read up on it. Sounds like something I give it s try for a few weeks, if I notice good results I'll keep at it.
|
It's not an overnight thing. This is our lifestyle.
|
I am currently 220 trying to get down to 200. I am 6ft and trust me people think I'm crazy already trying to drop 20lbs. Just some people don't realize what a peeled/ vascularity is.
|
I know, I'm ready to make it my lifestyle aswell.
|
Isn't that when your viens are popping out? Like extreme Viens
|
Yeah, I dont know what a peeled vascularity is either. Sounds like a fruit.. ; ) |
lol!!!! Dsquared is a dam troll!!! lol!!!
|
Lol this is true my young padawon
|
Holyshit, I just did a Hiit work out. how times a day do you do it?
|
Once. Haha. Skip a day inbetween, too. It's really tough on your body so you should at least give it one day.
|
Yeah. I actually don't do it at all try two days on and one off. A good idea would be upper body one day lower the next then rest. I isolate body parts a lot more but since you're just beginning this is a great starting point. After a while you'll want to limit the total body workouts and have a back day leg day chest say etc etc
Congrats so far. Keep up the good work. Any luck getting a hold of spec? |
Im trying to turn into a meatball... Will hit 220 before dieting. :)
|
Thanks for the help.ill check in at the end of the month for an update.
|
thats what i'm talking bout!

Just trolling through the forums and I'm reading this. Must not have noticed it before. You must not know what macro nutrients are. There's nothing wrong with him eating oatmeal for breakfast. I eat it and almost every fit person I know eats oatmeal.
Also, there's nothing wrong with fiber cereal. In fact I also enjoy eating cereal as a snack. The best response would have been several eggs and oatmeal with a scoop of protein. That's a solid 50 or so grams first thing in the morning. Probably the absolute most common bodybuilder fitness model etc breakfast. If you don't understand nutrition, by a book and then read it and then put your 1.566 cents in. |
