Gas Milage
All S2K owners, I recently purchase an 00 s2k and am getting close to 280 to the tank, and am driving very conservatively. I am curious what is your average mile to gal/tank?
that seems really good.. I think the most I ever got out of my 04 was right around 280 then the gas light came on.. This was driving like a granny everywhere tho. How do you like your S?
Really yeah I was kinda disappointed, because I had a 99 Si with Itr swap and was getting close to 325 a tank. And I always drive granny style! I love it, only thing I dislike is the amount of road noise in the cabin at freeway speeds. I wish I could afford a hard top :(

I drive until the light comes on, and fill it up and only fills like 11 gal don't think its 13 but I could be wrong. Oh really I rarely roll with the top down..
Yeah that is lame it never goes passed 11 for me! and its like 30 bucks with 91
Any other s2k owners wanna chime in and give us some feedback
I am around that range as well. On a trip up to Phx for a concert I diffenently got better mpg but 280-288 is right around my range and fill up is around 11.5 gallons
270 Miles on 11.1 gallons almost every time like clockwork. I drive it like I stole it alll the time
I also run the ideal 93 octane level and change all the fluids way to often. |
I drive my car normal and get on it about 4-6 times per fill up.....I have an intake only and get 24-25 mpg's...I always calculate my MPG's everytime I fill up....
I have an 02 with 78k |
I have achieved 36mpg in my s2000.... coming back from El Paso....in between Demming NM and tucson....top up and 75mph speed.....
Normally around town I get about 280 for 11.5 with a combination of top up/top down driving....the top does affect MPG Usually the average is 26 mpg....sometimes 30mpg with alot of highway miles.... my driving style is one of mostly cruising, but every onramp its mad tyte VTEC....and some other occasions |
I get 23 mpg in the city and 26 on the freeway. I also drive quite slow so i was disappointed a bit but i love my s2k and the wind noise is almost non existent. the s2k is the most quiet convertible i have ever been in!
I have gotten 36 mpg in my 1984 crx with a ls. |
the tank is in fact 13 gallons.....think about it though...if you went through all thirteen gallons the only fuel left in the car would be in the fuel lines....not enough to run a car for very long...
the most I have ever put in an S2000 is 12 gallons IIRC..... think about how much a gallon really is..... think about a gallon of milk.... that should give you some perspective..... also....your talking about a 2.0 liter 120hp/liter NA motor....kinda high strung....... moving a 2800-2900 pound vehicle...... the fact that it can achieve 30+ MPG on the highway in a soft top convertable platform...and yet still get 25mpg with spirited driving... thats impressive........I mean its not a civic HX |
Yesterday.
268 miles and 10.6 gallons to fill it up. 268/10.6=25.37 MPG's |
I get about 25mpg w/ 4.77 rear end. Around 250 a tank usually just over 10gallons. For the most part conservative driving. Before the gears I got 299 to a tank straight driving like a grandma. All you should really be concerned with is if its consistent
i have an 05 and i'll get about 330 or so miles to the tank. i really don't beat on it too much tho and i do almost all highway driving.
Just about the exact thing I was going to post.
I have a 02 s2k and i can get about 300 miles with three bars left that"s like 95 percent freeway at 70. Is your road noise coming from the diff? I have noticed when coming home at night and i have everything off and its quiet a low humm...
just got 349.3 on a full tank coming back from CA this weekend. I was impressed! Cruise control set at 70-75 the whole way
If you are getting 25MPG or more, you are driving it wrong :drive:
22-23mpg here. never go on the highway. |
i have an 00' also a NFR. just got it yesterday, but yeah i dont really like the top down either im a hardtop kinda person but it goes down only at night time
