1st automatic Honda for me
I will add more pics of bigger items added. Comments/questions/criticism are welcome. Last updated 7/28/14.
Back at the end of Feb. I bought my 1st auto Honda. An 06 EX CR-V. The super low mileage was one reason for getting it. This was taken as I drove away from the 1st owners home with it for the trip home. Here are some pics from the ad for the "before" pics. And have to show off the sweet steering wheel cover that I removed before I was off the guys block. So anyways, brought it home, parked it away and proceeded to change all the fluids and other maintence. Then started adding the accessories as it only had the OEM front mud flaps, after door edge guards and a pin stripe which has grown on me. Started with hardwiring the Escort MAX radar with custom mute box, hardwiring the Garmin and adding the Scan Gauge as well. Also to make the driver seat a bit better I found a brand new discontinued OEM accessory storage armrest for a steal. It can be adjusted to different positions unlike the stock one and storage space is always nice. |
Then I added in a cargo lamp from a CRX into the back as I had plans of getting the OEM accessory cargo cover, (cover now aquired). With the rear door open and the cover closed you couldn't see what was on the floor. The bulb has now been changed to an LED. Both the door has to be open and the switch on the lamp turned on for it to work so it can not be accidently left on.
Then it was off to fix the glove box lamp as it stayed on when the headlamps were on. Bothered the shit out of me. Anyways, I hope the pics explain the story. If someone wants more pics or an explanation let me know as the same lamp is used on many Honda's. The unmodded lamp in the pics is out of a 94-97 Accord and is the same as the 02-06 CR-V. Bracket/striker on top, unmodded lamp middle and modded one on bottom. Stock Fixed. Close up of lamps. All fixed. |
Added factory side steps in black. Got those brand new for a steal, ($126.00 shipped to my door.) I'm happy.
Got a brand new 1/2 bra, front ashtray and front cig lighter off the Portland CL while I was up there from one seller. I'm an accessory whore if you couldn't tell by my Lude. Also ordered up the factory accessory driving lamps. Got those working with the high beams and also with just the parking lamps. Stock they only worked with the low beams and that sucked. Then added in some Hella Horns as I've done with many of my Honda's. Pic from a distance. |
If anyone cares, here is a list of what's been done so far and bought since purchase. Also there is a few things listed at the bottom I have plans to do yet. I will keep this updated and change it as things change.

Great for a family car
|
No family. Just the dog and I. Couldn't stand the size of the Del Sol anymore.
I've previously had a 94 Accord EX wagon 5spd and an 00 EX CR-V 5spd for just myself as dd's. |
nice man I really love how detailed you are to the small items
|
I love it. It's exactly what I would do if I ever get one of these bad boys
|
Gota love the crv! Nice work
|
Lets have babies lol Omg i love that you are a an accessory whore. It looks great, but where did the sol go? |
Expect nothing less from the OEM master
:autored: |
Thanks guys.
No kids EVER for me! I came into this world and someone changed me. I'll probably go out with someone different changing me once again. I'm not changing anyone or anything between that time. Lol Had the Sol listed on 3 FB pages for a total of 6 days. Sold to a guy who drove over/down from LA area. We have plans to meet up next year for Eibach. He's taking that and I'm taking the Lude. Call it as it is, I'm a whore for OEM accessories or ones that make it perform or function better. |
With the signature Hella horn touch
|
Plan to keep it till about 200K. Have done that with almost all my Hondas as well. Being a Lude owner, door sills have kinda been a "thing". Here's the ones on the CR-V. Front. Rear. Also pictured is the OEM Accessory rear ashtray in the door. Got those to go along with the OEM accessory cargo trim. Also pictured is the random Toyota cargo net. |
I have a few. Scan Gauge II's (Lude under radio) Hella Horns 1 of the 2 on the Lude. Receiver Hitches with an "H" plug Custom install of the Escort Here's the box in the Lude. And also window visors. The 1st gen CR-V and Accord wagon had eBay ones. The Lude has the JDM accessory ones. This CR-V and the 8th gen Civic have WeatherTech. The Del Sol couldn't have any and my other previous Accords had Vent Shade stick on ones. I could have got OEM ones for this "V" as they are available as a US accessory but I liked the look of the WeatherTech ones better. Plus way easier to install. |
I felt so Weird the first time buying an auto Honda, but lately that's turned into all I have :-(
|
It was different but since the Sol is now gone, I've been working on getting the Lude back on the road after sitting like this for over a year. I do miss shifting.
It's finally back on the ground now. Just need to finish dialing in the ride height, put a headlamp back together and back in, and put the front bumper on. Then off for an alignment and some new tires as these are just getting old. |
why happened to the prelude tha made you take it apart?
|
The left rear coilovers was leaking. And since they were so old, (2005-2006), F&F didn't rebuild them anymore. So........
I did all new coilovers, all new OEM lower control arms, new OEM sway bar end links and OEM bushings front and rear, valve adjustment, OEM valve cover gasket set, ( v/c gasket, spark plug o-rings and v/c grommets), OEM distributor o-ring, OEM oil filter adapter o-ring, new battery, new OEM exhaust gaskets, polished some parts, painted headlamps a bit due to condensation as they were retroed back in 05/06. New OEM front wheel well splash shields and under engine shield, new spark plugs, OEM fuel filter and changed all fluids with OEM stuff, (coolant, trans, brake, power steering, clutch). Some interior stuff and other stuff I can't remember at the moment I'm sure. I'm an OEM whore in general. Everything from Honda please. |
You should open up a Honda resto shop if you're able to still source so many proper parts lol
|
I remember seeing it back at the Cheeba Hut on 07/08. Think its awesome you're keeping it going with such detail
How long have you had it? |
I've had the Lude 10yrs now. It's been basically the same now for about 8yrs. I did go to Cheba but that was in 2010 as I didn't live here until Jan 2010 although the car was transported down in Aug. 2009 by a friend who stored it until I moved south. Here is a few pics from that. |
Installed a hitch and the wiring today. Also changed out the license plate lamp bulb for an LED. Pic shows the chrome OEM exhaust tip and the 2" OEM hitch plug cover from the Pilot and Ridgeline.
|
Well just got back from a 12 day, ruffly 6,000 mile trip with it. Still need to add up mileage and what not. While gone, I finally got it tinted the way I had wanted and also got the WeatherTech Vent Visors on. Here is a couple pics to compare. It previously was 35% on the front which was old and the factory stuff on all the rear. Now has 20% up front and 5% over the factory stuff on the rear and moonroof.
Was. Now. Was. Now. Drivers seat shot from the trip. Passengers seat relaxing view. (Slide seat all the way forward, remove headrest and lay it flat. Then recline the back seat. Add some pillows and your good to go.) Had some good food while at the Car Craft car show stop in St. Paul, MN |
|
What the fuck is this shit?! Needs more Miata! :autored:
|
Wow I remember your lude back in the day!
|
The bars over the headlights are awesome! It's just such a weird angle compared to what you'd traditionally see with a brush guard.
|
Here ya go then, just for you.
Still have that car as well. Last pic I tool of it back last spring. I agree. I believe the reason though is so they follow they lamps and they have an odd shape. |
Got my cross bars on and yakima basket, finally. Also had a new windshield installed. Had the entire thing tinted 80% with a 20% strip up top. Didnt want to go too dark across the top as I have emergency strobes mounted up there and wanted them visible durning the day.
Also got my Form Fit hood deflector from Canada and only use the corner pieces of the OEM bra now when the weather is decent. Still need to get the 5, 05-06 RSX-S wheels for it refinished. I currently own 14 of the same rims for some reason. Either gonna go 225/60R17 or 215/60R17 Geoloander's on them. Also did a full brake job. I have to say they did a great job while in Colorado in the mountains recently. Also recently picked up a brand new set of OEM headlamps for $118.00 shipped for the pair. Couldnt pass it up as just 1 retails for close to $400.00. Now starting to look at projectors and shrouds for a Bi-Xenon projector retro fit. |
Wow, how did you find the deal on the headlights?
|
Ebay seller oepartscompany. They were 69.00Ea shipped so 138.00 for the pair shipped. Then I had a coupon that if I spent $100 or more in Ebay Motors I could take $20.00 off knocking it down to $118.00 shipped for the pair.
The seller currently is only offering one side for $83.99 shipped. I had been looking though since I bought the V over a year ago now though. Patience pays off generally in the end. |
And tonight Ivy was totalled by a stupid woman in a RAV4. Almost hit her husband though who was riding a motorcycle but avoided him only to hit her. She was cited for the accident which is good.
I will post pics later tonight after I get out of the ER. Possible broken foot, sore as crap neck, in a neck brace now, and right hand injury of some sort. So pissed!!!!!!!!!! But I did roll her RAV4 on its side. |
Oh no! Sorry to hear! Glad you are ok though man

Well here is the full story and many pics. Didnt break anything but my right foot is fucked as I was standing on the brake pedal when we hit. So much so the pedal is now bent.
As I was coming to an interestion, which I had a green light to go across, a small SUV was facing me waiting to take a left and they did, which was fine.l, plenty of room ans tim . But I never saw the motorcycle behind it that followed him right through like they were strapped together. I hit the brakes to not his stupid ass. Next thing I know I see a Rav4 in my lane turning in front of me. I stood in the brakes. Didnt even touch the airbag when it deployed as I was tensed up which is bad to do in an accident. (Just had my airbag recall done 3 weeks ago thank god.) Anyways, hit her, watched her roll which was really slow. Shut the Vizzle off, turned off the lights, turned on 4 ways and strobes and ran to her vehicle. Ripped the passenger side door open as the drivers side was on the ground and made sure she was alright. (The door opened can be seen in pics before any responders were there). Right then, the guy on the motorcycle comes back screaming I hit his wife. Right then I told him he was lucky it was her in the car and not him on the bike. He shut up after that as he knew it was true, he told the cops it was her fault when I said the same thing to him, in front of the cops, and that he was lucky to be alive . Plus 2 witnesses in different vehicles gave statements backing my statements of what happened. Personally hes lucky, I was to install my dash cam this weekend and if it was in I would have turned in the vid so he could be citied for not yielding the right of way. Also if he had not run the light like he did, his wife couldnt have turned in front of me without hitting the back of him 1st. Also found out from the cycle riders mom who should up on scene, the husband and wife were just in a cycle crash 3 weeks ago that was their fault. Despite that, he wasnt wearing a helmet tonight. If I had hit him, she would have probably hit me in my drivers side instead taking them both out. Probably killing him. Well the husband is part of the Nomad motorcycle gang, needless to say many of them showed up, started talking shit until the cops told them to leave as they had no business there. I did thank the cops for that as 6 on1 wouldnt have been fun. Well, here is some pics. It is currently at my house so I can strip some stuff I know I will not be paid for by insurance. I do plan on a lawsuit to recoup some of my losses as I know I wont be working atleast tomorrow. Enjoy the aftermath. Sorry in advance for the quality of some pics. And Im sure this wont buff out but maybe some grey speed tape will fix her up? Just an idea....... and yes I was the one who ripped the passenger side door open of her car like that to make sure she was OK. In 2 pics you can see it like that and no emergency vehicles there yet, i did check on her before anyone else. Im not that big of an asshole, sometimes. They had to use the jaws of life to get her out. They cut the back door off and cut the tops of the back seats out. The pics dont do it justice. That motor was much closer to the fire wall on the passenger side. Hopefully tomorrow I can move around better and get underneath for a better view. The hood wont open. Well thats it for Ivy. Time to start looking for something else and I guess start driving the Lude from time to time. Two last pics of her in her glory. These were only taken a few weeks ago. Oh, and was going to be ordering my lift springs this weekend along with Bilsteen shocks, glad I didnt. Ha ha. Also was going to be getting my tires for my 05-06 RSX-S wheels for it too. Not anymore though. May actually sell a set of 4 as I have 14 of the rims. Ha ha. 1 question for you all, I know Im supposed to see motorcycles, there is even bumper stickers stating that, but why dont they see cars? I asked the guys parents that when they showed up on scene, they didnt have an answer imagine that. That is when they did say the husband and wife were just in another wreck 3 weeks ago that was their fault as well on a bike. The Rav4 driver told my mom she never saw me or saw my headlamps, and fog lamps which have PIAA 2500K yellow bulbs in the fogs. Day or night I drive with everything on as my only previous accident was exactly the same as this one minus the roll over durning the day time 17 1/2 yrs ago and is the reason I have continued owning Hondas. 1st Honda I owned, 92 Accord EX 2dr 5spd. Had it 8 months before it was totalled. It was almost dark for this one as you can see in the pics in this one. Evčrything was on. Nooooo!
Sorry for the loss, glad your ok. |
Wow, this is terrible. Glad you are relatively okay
|
Motorcyclists want you to look twice because they'd rather you care more about their lives than they do. They have the same bullshit mentality all over the world. Loud pipes save lives? No, you not riding in blind spots saves lives. Look twice for motorcycles? How about you just not do 75 in a 45? I made a post on Facebook about some meme that was talking about how some motorcyclist was lucky he didn't die when a car pulled out in front of him while he was traveling 75 MP/H. I then brought up the point that there's no side streets on interstates so he must have been doing 75 on a city road. Yet somehow I just don't understand because I'm not out there putting my life on the line every day, fighting the millions of retarded cagers.
If cager is a word in your daily vocabulary, you're too fucking stupid to be riding motorcycles. |
I rode a motorcycle for two years and can agree with this. 96% of people riding motorcycles shouldn't be driving a car. I have met so many just like this and just roll my eyes whenever they post dumb shit like this. I never had a close call after commuting 30 miles round trip, 5 days a week. Not to say that there aren't some accidents when it comes to motorcycles, but the majority is their fault for being a dumb ass.
Not only that, the majority has the mentality of HURRR DUR I SHOULD BUY A 1000 FOR A FIRST BIKE BECAUSE IM A MAN, NOT A FUCKING PUSSY. The amount of people that can out ride a 1000, or even a 600 is fucking slim and for people who are just starting out that number is 0. Riding a bike is supposed to be about having fun, not "I survived a 1000/600". |
The really scary part, if I had hit the biker, his wife then would have probably hit me in the drivers side as I ran him over as she stated she never saw me. I know he did half way through his turn.
He never denied and I asked him many times about his actions in front of the cop. His only response ever was, when I said it again in front of the cop, he turned to the cop and said, "It's my wifes fault." The guy wouldnt talk to me. Just stare. So messed up they were just in a wreck 3 weeks ago on a bike that was their fault. His mother who showed uo told me that. I told her to give him a hug and be thankful hes still alive. And he still wasnt wearing a fricken helmet despite his rexent crash. He is so lucky to be alive and/or uninjured right now. Thanks for the well wishes all. Im able to move around a bit more today so hopefully will have some more pics. Yesterday was spent at the doctors office, followed by a chiropractor appointment. Late in the day I did get a hold of a lawyer and am to meet with them in Monday. I also did call the other drivers insurance company to make sure she was completely up to do with her policy. She is. She hadnt comtacted them yet though about the accident and asked ifnI wanted to start a claim. I declined at this time. I want to speak to a lawyer 1st which I feel is in my best interest. Again, thanks for the support. If anyone finds an 06, 09,10, 11 CRV or 08 Element in good shape with low miles please let me know. I will travel for the right one. Ive even taken plane rides for the right Honda before. |
