P20-B000 trans in 96 civic

Hey everyone, ive got a 96 civic hx, d16y5 that has had a trans swap (that I didnt do) in it. It has a p20-b000 from a 92-95 ex or si. Its time for a clutch. obviously they bolt up but is there a difference in clutches?

I have no idea what flywheel is in it. the one what matches the trans or possibly one from the same year as my car (or same d16 block)? Is there a difference?

Basically im looking for help on what year clutch to buy. Thanks for anyones help.

cbaracing 05-09-2013 03:18 PM

who gives a rats ass what trans is in there. all the b200 this and p-whatever codes. holy crap

the flywheel bolts to the crank inside the engine. has nothing to do with the transmission

there is no difference between 92-00 civic clutches

There's no reason to be a dick man. I asked a very specific question using very specific numbers so that no one would have to ask what transfer it was or what motor. Also, I didn't know of there was any difference between flywheels. I apologize if I offended you with my lack of knowledge. So, thanks for answering, dick.

Anyone else have anything else to chime in? Possibly in a little less dickish manner?

Thanks

OBDXherr13 05-09-2013 03:43 PM

Trans* not transfer. I'm on my phone so I apologize for that too.

:031:Less dickish lol!!!
You will be fine with a clutch for a 92-00 Civic obviously a single cam. So anything D-series 92-00 and you will be ok. Be sure to have the flywheel surfaced if you don't get a new one with your kit.

first day on the intArwebz?

OBDXherr13 05-09-2013 08:38 PM

Nope, I just expect more from people. That's all. especially in the honda scene.

Brah cba can DO whatever he want :sm:

OBDXherr13 05-09-2013 09:06 PM

Welcome to azht lol

OBDXherr13 05-09-2013 09:20 PM

This is why I try not to post. I just read and research but when there is no answer on here sometimes you gotta. I just try and stick to myself and let everyone else playfight over the internet. Thanks though man Haha

C.R.A.Y. 05-09-2013 09:26 PM

Must not know the Honda scene

Chuck Chainz 05-09-2013 09:28 PM

Ppl are animals; don't expect more than eat, sleep, and shit.

OBDXherr13 05-09-2013 09:32 PM

No, I do. Im just always hopeful we'll stop talking shit to eachother and be a little more respectful. Sure, there are some kids out there that just come up with the dumbest questions and deserve a kick in the ass but mostly I.wish we'd be a little more respectful. Especially the "gurus" LOL. Its my first Honda build but not my first build. Just cause I don't know Honda's as well as "so and so racing Honda big dick" doesn't mean I or anyone deserves to be treated like crap... ya know?

OBDXherr13 05-09-2013 09:34 PM

Haha. This went from trans and clutch topic to philosophical real fast.

Chuck Chainz 05-09-2013 09:36 PM

Agree w/ previous post

OBDXherr13 05-09-2013 09:38 PM

Lol. Well, I got my answers. Thanks everyone for the help

S!K TEG 05-09-2013 11:41 PM

this is the wrong place to do research on anything. I dont think i have ever seen a tech talk. mostly BS and "Look, my JDM car YO!"

OBDXherr13 05-10-2013 12:02 AM

This literally made me just laugh out loud. Its sad but true. i love real talk. I appreciate people havin my back caise i dont think my OP was out of line

cbaracing 05-14-2013 03:27 PM

at least you got an answer

its usually just sheep balls or cattle prod

im usually less dickish and what not but i just got my period and well just got annoyed with all the numbering this and part number that on this particular day. not just you but from all the interwebs :boxer:

ps leave the HX alone get a hatch or another car. HX was meant for gas mileage not to be "built"

OBDXherr13 05-14-2013 03:51 PM

Haha well thanks. Realistically though this head has more potential than a y8 because of the roller rockers. With a cam grind, which has already happened, and hondata it doesnt really matter what it is. Its all the same bottom end.

And clutch.

OBDXherr13 05-14-2013 03:52 PM

There was supposed to be a wink at the end of that cause I'm just messing with ya. I appreciate your explination though man.

Rofl

Nachooooosupreme 05-14-2013 06:52 PM

Built hx? Has it been done yet?

OBDXherr13 05-14-2013 06:59 PM

Not that I can tell. At least nothing over 200hp. But between all the bolt ons, Skunk2 intake manifold, stage 2 regrind from crowel cams, 500cc injectors, walbro 255, arm trutime, cometic hg and arp studs. It should pud down some serious hp. Im shooting for 250 at 14 lbs on a garrett 50 trim and custom made ramhorn.
