need help

:smackself:ok so i was going to put the cf hood on, long story short the bolt is stripped ( not my fault, previous owner who is a dumb fuck )

so now i need to be informed of a way to get it off, drill it out...i only have wood bits.....smaller size wrench, didnt work....i dont know

i could take off the whole hinge, but them that would mean having to buy another one

if someone knows of a way to get said bolt off that would be great or if someone has an extra driver side hinge, that would be awesome

i seriously think this previous owner is an asshole who has cost me over 3k in shit he didnt inform me about

C.R.A.Y. 12-07-2011 10:46 PM

serious you cant get off a 10mm bolt thats rounded off?

whats this world come to?
vice grips ir grind the head of the bolt off

TucsonEuroCamry 12-07-2011 10:56 PM

its not the fact that i cant get it off, its more of i dont have the tools to. i am limited to the basics no specialy tools besides a drill and saw stuff to do wood work with

you wanna help?

TucsonEuroCamry 12-08-2011 07:53 AM

C.R.A.Y. 12-08-2011 07:54 AM

They have a harbor freight in Tucson homeboy

nelsmar 12-08-2011 07:59 AM

BUY the right tools.

ITT: Guy rounds off a bolt. Guy can't remove bolt. Guy asks how to do it. Guy then says he doesn't have tools. Guy then bitches that we tell him what to do.

Go to harbor freight, buy some vice grips, buy some bolt offs, buy some reverse threaded taps, cut hood off and weld it on, drive to PHX and ill remove it if you buy me a beer.

TucsonEuroCamry 12-08-2011 08:09 AM

how is that bitching about what you guys tell me? i didnt know replies such as dude really and sometimes my hands get dirty when i work on my car, were suggestions or advice?

i posted that last night when no places were open, today is a new day, getting a grinder and some vice grips from home depot since thats the closest thing to me, literally like 2 mins away, harbor freight is like 45min away

what are bolt offs?

nelsmar 12-08-2011 08:20 AM

I lovoeeeedddd mine before some asshat stoel them. Basically a socket but on the edges its sharp pointed teeth. So as you turn it harder and harder it cuts deeper and deeper into the bolt. It WILL destroy the bolt, but it will take off just about anything you can image! :) Head on over to sears they are ~ $15-$30 for a small set of them. You will be wanting a kit with a 10mm option.

TucsonEuroCamry 12-08-2011 08:27 AM

ooooooo, i wish sears was open right now, lame, 11, lame......thanks for the info

nelsmar 12-08-2011 08:30 AM

DAMN sears opens at 11 now? I haven't gone there in the AM for like 5 years.

nelsmar 12-08-2011 08:31 AM

You can drive here and we can get some lunch... lol i have some reverse taps in the garage!

TucsonEuroCamry 12-08-2011 08:33 AM

would be a good idea, today is my last day off for like 3 weeks, but not enough gasolina, actually i have like just under a half of a tank.....if i get my hood on ill shoot up there

Nachooooosupreme 12-08-2011 08:41 AM

By the sounds of it I don't think your car would make it

nelsmar 12-08-2011 08:43 AM

not a fan of it in a bottle, but on tap its great. Yardhouse usually has it, as well as a few other places. Been into different stuff than normal, been wanting things other than my normal IPA habits.
