Dont buy supertech valveterain
ok well here is the story fellas
i had a gsr head built with supertech dual valve springs and retainers yada yada well i had it on my car for about 10,000 miles fresh with stock gsr cams and i was getting on the freeway at 7st and the 101 and at 5500 rpm's intake side on my first cylinder the outter spring broke and bent my valve i called them and they said it was my own fault and that they dont warranty any product i even just asked for an outer spring replacement and he said NO sir we dont sorry have a good day... be careful with these products and if you have had good luck with them thats good i got the bad luck haha |
i dont see a problem with supertech stuff.... its a wear and tear item god knows what could have caused it to fail
|
yeah i know just thought they could have helped me out a little with atleast replacing one outer spring i mean come on..i got shitty service with a rep over the phone and just wasnt please by it..iv never heard anything bad about them either thats why i was surprised
|
Good to know, try calling again and talking with another person.
|
I was actually thinking about buying some valveterain from them too. I guess ill stick with skunk 2 i havent heard anything bad about them.
Well yet |
From what I've heard Supertech is good stuff all the way. This is surprising to hear. My advice when calling back is be extremely nice and if possible try not to mention the broken spring because they will always say it was your installation that caused the error. Perhaps try something like "I lost one of the springs" or something lol
Hope you get this figured out. |
haha yeah seriously all i have ever heard is pos comments about them ima try calling again i was being extremely nice
|
I have heard and read horror stories about SuperTech......
Friend of mine had a built gsr and it lost a valve on cruise 45mph just driving...ruined the motor of course. There's a few posts on Honda-tech with complaints on them too. I have a set of there valves in my garage and im scared to use them... Chris at SOS uses all SuperTech valve train parts for the C30a heads... |
You've got something bad to say about any subject that comes up. You don't count.
|
idk all i is that if you plan on running more then 30psi youll have to go supertech cuz they have 100 lb seat pressure springs were sunk being a allmotor spring will start to float like mine did. so i went from skunk2s to the supertechs
|
lol. :( :rflmao:
|
brad!
what did he say? confused the hell outta meeeee |
i'm still lol'ing at the 'allmotor' spring
|
no that would be Brad lol
im just letting you know my info on them homie....here i'll talk good about something.. The Manley valve train in my race car gets rev'd to 9,500rpm and yet to have an issue... |
haha jerk! i didn't say anything bad about supertech :sucker:
|
