A/C question
A/C quick question. If the A/C system has no charge will the compressor make the engine bog a little regardless when it's turned on? Or is there no pressure for the pulley so it wouldn't change the idle? Thanks.

There's a clutch on the compressor that engages when the AC is activated in the car, other wise it's just a another pulley on the engine when it's not. Shouldn't effect idle at all.

To actually answer the question: regardless of the amount of freon in the system, when you engage the AC system, the compressor clutch with engage and "make the engine bog a little".

anywhere under around 20psi or lower in the system and that pressure switch not let you get power to the compressor clutch.
