car troubles

Ok fellas... I got a question hopefully someone has a answer.. I rebuilt a b series, everything new besides sensors and simple shit like that. It runs good cold.. but when it warms up it idles, and it bogs out when it reaches about 2500 rpms while driving or just holding at 25.. it will pick back up again sometimes quicker than others... I got a skunk2 intake manifold so I can't adjust my air from the mani, I played with the throttle body screw to raise the idle, but no luck. I think it might be my iacv. But unsure.. I plugged the hole inside the throttle body, and it's wants to sur off when cold but when it's warmed up it doesn't really react as well as it does when it's cold and the hole is plugged. I'm a little lost.. should I replace the iacv all together? Or does anyone have any suggestions? ?

Thanx

I'm lost.

It bogs and dies at 25mph or 2500 rpm?
Dirty fuel system?

It bogs down like it wants to stall at around 2500 rpms if I'm driving or just revving it, but while I'm holding the throttle after it acts like it wants to stall it will return to normal. But it does it every time

It doesn't die. It acts like it wants too but will jump back up.. I had half a tank, and the car was down for about 4 to 5 months.. I don't think the fuel is bad already

. Try changing the iacv (free at wreckIng yards or $5-20 on the streets) and check your vacuum hoses.

I had a hair line crack cause the same type of systems. I just paid like $3-5 for all brand new hoses to replace my old hosing.

I sprayed carb cleaner everywhere and I didn't find any leaks

I had something similar in my car, like i would be driving low speeds then it would bogg up and out of nowere then all the sudden just go. Lol. This happen sometimes not all the times thou. I calibrated my tps ( which was off by alot )and it stopped hasn't done it in a while.

Well I guess I will replace one by one until it stops.. haha

I think my tips is good. I had this tb on my old swap and wasn't doing this..

I would just double check doesnt hurt to confirm, its just a voltmeter and some needles to see the readings. Good luck bro

Timings good?

CB7_PHX 07-10-2014 07:47 AM

I did last night. It's supposed to be at .5 idle and 4.5 at wot. Mine was at .78 at idle. I adjusted it but I didn't get to drive it yet. I was holding the rpms at different stages though and it didn't Seem to stutter. But when I block the hole in the throttle body it wouldn't want to die.. I think I might have to look for vacuum leaks again or maybe it's my iacv

I did the timing when the engine was out of the car. So it should be on point.

My son and I had an issue with a hatch I just bought. Seemed to have a misfire so swapped out all your basics. Turned out to be 2 teeth off . Just saying!! Good luck!!

CB7_PHX 07-10-2014 06:48 PM

Yes sir.. I just got new cams. Didn't want to put them on yet, but I might, just to redo the timing. Either way I'm going through everything to see what I did wrong or if it's mechanical failure

CB7_PHX 07-10-2014 08:03 PM

Well I drove it for about 5 min after adjusting my tps and it wasn't doing it anymore. I'm going to test it a couple different times and double check everything else before I say it's fixed. But thanx for the feedback fellas
