ctr pistons into b16a block
want to know if ctr pistons would go into my b16a block without a problem ?
and if posible will this increase compresion .? or am i just better off doing my rebuilt with the stock pistons? or wat pistons can i use for high compresion that will go well into my block? help please |
yes they will work.. yes it will raise your compression..
will raise your compression to around 11.9:1 ish what are you trying to do with it? |
im doing a fully built b16?
wanted to do the ctr pistons to try them out in the bottom end but wanted to make sure that was possible and gna stuff my top end with toda products? im hopeing if i have enough money this year building it slowely this years project sort of thing but those are my plans .. wat do you think? so theres no machining needed to be done to the rods to fit my b16 crank? |
You are not going to be Fully built. You are simply building with oem parts. More of a rebuild
Why toda part? Just for the name? Do research, plan, and buy accordingly. |
show me wat i have to do then to be fully built i oviously dont know ?
|
"so theres no machining needed to be done to the rods to fit my b16 crank?" are you changing rods??
|
Yes im lookin to do eagle hbeams
|
What I was asking was, what are you trying to accomplish?
Have a quick daily? have a nice n/a b16? hit a 13? just do work to the motor you have now, and make it funner? |
Basically ur building a b16b. Ctr pistons came in the b16b. They will work with no machine work. Now if u cud find sum ctr cams tha would be a sleep lookin motor. Am running ctr pistons in a ls set up with ls head and stage 1 crane cams wit a gsr tranny. Yea buddy thas fun. Open the hood all u see is ls. If u wanted more torque do ls block with ctr pistons. Iph machined my ls rods and ctr pistons. I put em in and away we went. I hv to run 91 plus additive for the compression. Gooood luck.

Except the B16B is actually a B18C block with different crank/rods/pistons.
Thanks for playing. |
hahaha yaaaa THIS ^
|
Why?
|
wrong.. A b16b is a basically a gsr block with a B16a crank/rods.. thats why their so rev-happy.. the pistons being such high comression just makes up for it..
|
No, the B16B is a B18C with a more aggressive intake cam, a different intake manifold casting and a 1.6L counter weighted crank and longer rods to make up for the smaller crank.
The B16B shares nothing internally with the B16A.... I have a B16B crank sitting in my garage in Okinawa. Give me a week and I'll get it mailed here if you want to compare the 2. With the comment about B16B pistons and cams in a B16A being an awesome sleeper motor... I had that engine with a 4.785 final drive, it was rather slow. |
exactly. nothing super cool about 165 whp
|
:dumbass: b16b rods are longer then b16a rods...
Ctr: Rod Length: 142.42 mm (5.6 in) B16a: Rod Length: 134 mm (5.3 in) |
I sit, and read corrected.. Thanks to the both of you, now I know.. and thats how we learn..
|
Plus you used the wrong form of they're.
and said funner. who does that |
Oh shit, Bulbasaur vs. Zoolander! EPIC!
|
my money is on the rodent.
|
He's a merman damn it! A MERMAN!!
|
Not fair... I can't even turn left!!
Just wait for Magnum, then we'll see ;) |
lmfao!
|
It's actually an amphibian.
But tanks! |
|
that's not gay at all. :)
|
I really hope you're not trying to correct me and/or say I'm wrong.
|
|
lmao oh man
|
Why would I try to correct you? You're Bulbasaur. Thats like trying to tell a black man thats he's not black. If you insist that you are an amphibian, then I am forced to agree with you. lol
