B20Vtec Integra Help
 

I just bought this 96 integra the other day and its got a B20 with gsr head. I start the car up and no check engine light, as soon as I start driving, engine light comes on and I feel a loss of power. I get the code ran and it comes up with no codes at all. I am kinda new to the honda game so I dont know too much about these swaps. Any help would be great!

Jump the connector on the pass side kick panel to get the code.

How do I do that?

By sticking a paper clip in both connection points at the same time if im not mistake..

Cray what would jumping the connector do on an OBD2?

Pull the kick panel off, look for a 2 wire connecter brown and a black jump that connection with a wire/ clip whatever.

Same thing it will do on an obd1 car. Flash the code. He said the cel comes on and they can't pull a code. That leaves me to believe the car is converted to obd1 and the scanner won't connect to that. So have to check it manually.

Read the link cray sent you! When you jump the connector, your gonna look at how many times the CEL blinks, then when you find that out, theres a manual that tells you which code is for the number of blinks

Ok so I got the engine code, it says knock sensor. I had to change out my rear engine mount so I had the intake mani off today so I figured Id do that while im at it. There is something that looks like the knock sensor that is on the edge of the oil tap for the vtec but the plug and the threading is completely different that the knock sensor that I purchased. Ive looked them up online and it all comes up with the same sensor that I got at autozone. Im stumped. Theres not even a plug for the knock sensor on the harness

B20 doesn't have a knock sensor. What ecu is in the car?

Written on the cover of the ecu it says Gsr

The ecu thats in the car now has absolutely no markings on it. I do have a p72 that was in the trunk but the plugs are different.

Well don't matter. You will need a chipped ecu for it to run properly.

Do you know where I can get that done at and about how much it would cost?

Exactly, this thing is all fucked up. The motor sounds healthy and doesnt smoke but its been in an accident before and the core support is all fucked up.

ya u need a to get a chipped ecu and get a tune.. are u running obd2 to obd1 jumper? easiest thing would to go obd2 to obd1 and get a tune and disable all the bullshit u dont need... thats your best bet bro.

Thats exactly what is was. Bryant at notorious hooked it up and she runs great now
