You gonna need bigger injectors n a fuel pump that can keep up n then as I'm sure you already know a tune.

Its pretty much race gas but cheaper then pump gas but you will get shitty MPG

How does it increase mpg's if your dumping more fuel? There for needing bigger injectors n fuel pump.Or maybe there is something I dont know

See I have been on E85 for a while now but only because I was running 17 pounds of boost and higher on a DD, E85 was able to make this happen for me because E85 is 105 octane so its alot safer for me to run higher PSI. I am also lucky that I have a station up in scottsdale that is close to my house.

I created a thread in the forced induction tech area talking about MPG's, Price, vs pump gas ect.

Yes the gas is cheaper, the gas is higher octane, and there is not much of an MPG loss in my case using E85 but all in all after the cost savings vs MPG you end up basically the same as pump gas.

As for tuning your LS car with E85 you really don't get any savings money wise, you wont make really any extra power except maybe 2 horsepower.

It only really makes sense for cars that are planning on running higher boost levels who plan on driving their cars around alot that way it is safer than pump gas. Not to mention that there aren't to many stations either.

So if you are planning on using it just because it is higher octane and cheaper in the long run you aren't saving any money and you don't need the higher octane if you don't make the power to utilize it.

^agree, and also for high comp cars too, if your stock, think of how much money you are going to spend for a few cents a gallon.

True also for high comp cars, you loose maybe 5 to 7 MPG so the extra savings from the lower gas price equals itself out.

For you and I and other turbo or high comp cars it makes sense but if you are planning on running it with a stock motor there really is no point.

Like AZ Civic said, it's not going to do much good without being able to properly use the higher effective octane. It's like putting 91 in a stock base model Civic and expecting it to run better; it just doesn't do anything. I run it in my car because it's available right down the street from my fiance's place, and my car runs better on it (11.5:1 compression), as well as running a bit cooler too. When I run the juice on my car (150hp direct) then I REALLY get the benefit of the higher effective octane...

Shit, forgot something. You need to make sure that every part of your fuel system is methanol compliant or it will eat out your rubber parts faster than... well... it'll fuck it up. :)

Yea seriously, unless you're ls motor is built there is no real need for e85...
Those motors are meant to run on 87 or 89...

Az_civic good info here. Am running ls with ctr buttom end and crane stage 1 cams. Powerhouse suggest i try e85 as well. My cyl head psi went from 180 to 255. E85 here i come. Where is that station on scottsdale rd. that has e85?
