Super noob electronics ?

So I'm not too familiar with electronics.. And would rather not fuck up what I don't need to. The AUX jack in my '07 civic coupe hasn't worked in fuck knows how long. I was just curious should I take it in somewhere to get fixed/replaced? or is it quite simple to just purchase the product and replace it myself? Any and all help would be awesome. Thanks!!

Check a parts catalog and see how its listed. It will show you a pic and give ya a price. I'd give ya a link but I'm on my phone posting.

Your sure your cord is good? Also that the radio has been turned to the AUX setting? Next make sure the volume is turn up on the device feeding into it.

If all that is good it maybe the plug or where that is plugged into the radio.

Yeah i know about all that kinda stuff. I've purchased and returned quite a few AUX cords and messed with the setting. I'm just better at working on cars under the hood, not the dash. Appreciate it though! I'll check the parts catalog! Good idea

Check H&A accessories just google HANDA. They sell all sorts of accessories, oh well I know. But they have all the install instructions for the accessories as well. I know there is one on the for pulling the radio to add is Sat radio service and that aux plug is available for DX's as they didn't come with one so there will be install instructions for that.

Hope that helps ya a bit more.

See everyone, I'm not a complete asshole and can help people out.

Did it come factory with it? If so make sure all the harnesses from aux jack to the back of the radio are all plugged in.

^^ gonna check tomorrow. I thought of that a few minutes ago before checkin this lol. that's probably the reason

I know sometimes its in the center console area and when removing its easily overlooked to re connect it.

Only the DX model didn't come with it.

They are actually located on the dash rightunder the cig lighter.

OP, I figured you would check the connections which was the reason I suggested those sites to see how to take things apart and where it was ran.

Now that I'm on a computer, here are the links I was talking about. The parts catalog is set to an 07 Si coupe without NAVI. You may need to change that but with the info here that's what I went with.

The jack is #6 in the link.

Wiring is probably part of #2.

)

Read through this and youwill see how to take about everything you need outto check out stuff. Step #7 will get you to the wiring behind the AUX plug. #11 will show you how to pull the factory radio.

Bookmark this site as many accessories will give you instructions to take things apart for other jobs. Been a great resource for years for a few different makes of cars.
