anyone know any place that can widen or put offsets on rims?
 

i'm lookin to buy a drag dr20 size 16 but they only have +40 offset and i was wondering if anyone knows any place in phx that does wheel widening/offset... i want these 16 with a +25 offset but they dont make it so hope someone can help me with it... thx

I think youre confusing yourself in your own question.

You wont be able to "widen" your wheel any more then that it is when you buy it, The only way you can get a lower offset is to add a spacer on your existing wheel. If its +40 and you want a 25 then buy a 15mm spacer.

wat i meant was to make the wheel pop out more and the spokes inside more... and no spacers do not make the rim look aggressive... i want that 2 inch lip... meaning bolt on plate is closer to the inside lip of the wheel. not stayin +40 offset and put on spacers to make the whole rim pop out...

You have the right idea, if you have a 3 pieces wheel and shit.....but what you are talking about is like casting a whole diff rim....might aswell just get custom rims made.......

the reason i choose drag dr20 instead of equip 03 is becuz equip doesnt do 16's only 15's... and yes work equip's is custom wheel but dont do 16's... basicly mine would be a custom wheel but they dont make it... if ur saying question is stupid then pls keep it to urself cuz there is no such thing as stupid question... we all have our likes in stuff and i like a real aggressive look and motor... and some ppls like the track car look... the reason why i made this thread is cuz i'm tired of my rota c8's 16" with its +40 offset... and i want that wheel only as of keeping them with a low offset look... nah mean

lawlz. the wheels you are looking at are 1 piece cast wheels. to make them wider would require cutting them in half and then welding them back together after adding material. i personally would never drive on a set of wheels like that, even if i could find somebody to do that kind of work for me, because i would have no guarantee that they would be true, strong, leak free, balanced, etc

dude stop... your giving me a head ache.:idiot: buy a different wheel, why would you want to even buy a drag over a equip? i would rather get real rims over knock offs anyday

FYI... Wheel Specialist CAN widen wheels. I've seen it done for some muscle car guys. Changing the offset to create a larger lip though, probably not a possiblity with one piece wheels. Also, you know you're going to be spending a SHIT TON of money of the wheel modification alone right?

for the price get some nice real wheels
even though there arent that many deep dish wheels in 15s or 16s

i would get works equip 03 but since they dont make 16's then i wont... i'm not tryin to be that low on the ground but i would still like to look dump to the ground with 16's cuz it still give me ground clearance... nvm then... DELETE THIS THREAD PLS... thnx for who helped out though...

thnx for input bro but doesnt seem to have a Perform Action button on it... and oh about drags and equip 03... i can afford it both but only thing is this... if works equip 03 have 16's with any offset i a wanna choose then i'll be the first to rock it... i aint cheap... its just cuz they dont specialize making 16's bro... just wanna clear things up

but to the o.p. as far as adding a larger lip to achieve your offset with the rims you want your shit out of luck

if you are dead set on getting the equip 03's perhaps you can contact work or a skilled machinist and get some step up lips but be prepared to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
