Bogging down under load
92 CX Hatchback
D15B8, all stock Recently replaced the head gasket. Everything checked out before reinstallation. Now it's bogging under load. I can get up to around 3500 alright, but after that the intake get loud and just starts bogging down hard. Idle is fine, though I can hear a pop hear and there out of the tailpipe. Otherwise, no other issues running. I've replaced the cap and rotor along with the spark plugs to no avail. I'm puzzled. Now, it doesn't always come down to idle smoothly, so I wonder if the EACV is going bad, or perhaps the TPS. Thoughts? |
O2 sensor? I would get a code thos when trying to push pedal past bog...

Double check your timing.
|
What Paul said, double check. Sounds like its off a tooth? Or maybe more.
|
That's the only other thing I was thinking of. Not getting any codes. May have moved a tooth when I did the gasket. Thanks guys.

Ended up taking the belt off the cam gear after marking the belt and a tooth before it on the gear. Turned the gear back to match up with the marking on the belt. Issue solved. Was timing the whole time.
