Help

So I'm swaping motors on my 98 civic ex
I'm wanting to go to a b20.
Will my wiring harness work and my ecu or do I have to get a different one?
Also if I buy em1 axles at vatozone will that work too?
Thank you in advance for the help!

Harness will work, but you'd have to get a P75 LS ecu, if you use your EX ecu it's going to throw codes and run very lean I'm sure.
Axles... oem, oem, oem, oem

Why oem axles? Does it matter?

Also shift linkage? And do I have to get a different intake manifold so it fits?

Non Oem will give you endless problems, oil leaks, axle vibration, ill fitment, yadda, yadda.
99-00 EM1 and 94-01 Integra linkage will work
Get an OBD2 LS intake manifold to be compliant with OBD2

Would this transmission work?

Looks like it's an obd1 transmission (92-95 year). If I were you, I would find a 94-01 Integra Ls/gsr 5 speed transmission, and/or 99-00 Si 5 speed transmission.

Also for the swap, make sure you have the correct mounting brakets (ex/manual transmission braket and the 99-00 si or 94-97 del sol vtec timing belt braket, along with the rear T- braket for a 99-00 si).

Do some research as for as your engine harness goes. You may have to extend a wire or two so it doesn't pull out of the clips by accident.

With that b20 ull be alot happyier with a shorter gear trans. Dont just settle for a LS be patient and hunt down a gsr or b16. Google has alot of write ups or how toos and parts ull need to do your swap even what tools ull need.

Dammit I was impatient and ordered it already :(
So should I try and cancel the tranny? I'm kinda impatient because the car is sitting in my brothers garage and his wife is pressuring him to get it out ha
I found an Ls tranny and b16 tranny on eBay should I try and get one of those?

Why not get one local. RC Garage, Gabe, TSR. you don't know what condition that eBay one is until you install it and drive or spend time opening it and and going through it

Yeah i agree with LS-S DA9, ordering a tranny is pretty sketchy id personally hit up bryant at notorious or one of those guys stated above and let them know what your looking for.

Barbarian21 05-26-2015 09:02 PM

Well I ordered the engine and tranny from jdmtigerjapanese.com
Mans they used paypal so with buyer protection and a warranty I felt more comfortable because I've never done this before so I don't know what to look for exactly. Ha
I guess I should've posted this before the buy and wait for the response *facepalm

I mean its done and ordered should workout to get it back on the road.
While its apart id do the clutch and the flywheel as well.
I dont know anyone whos ordered from that website so keep updated on how the shipping process goes. Are you doing the swap? Did you order hasport mounts yet?

Barbarian21 05-26-2015 09:26 PM

Ok yeah that's my main concern is to get back on the road for now. And I haven't because $$ ha I was gonna order some on eBay as well ha just to be able to put the engine in and then when more funds come in I'm getting ha sport mounts and my brother and I are doing the swap.

My buddy said he's ordered from that site a few times and said its awesome. So I'm hoping that's still the case. The only problem was the $301 shipping charge :(

LS-S DA9 05-26-2015 09:54 PM

Exactly. The shipping charge could have went to a competition clutch or hasport mounts.

Broskiballa 05-27-2015 10:06 AM

Yeah dude, that is some serious shipping. If time is a limit right now, why don't you contact the company and get refunded? Use your money for a local transmission that will likely be in better shape then some random tranny that has been sitting in a warehouse for a year without movement. Not to mention collecting dust. In addition as "LS-S DA9" mentioned, you could put that shipping money into a clutch and flywheel. (if those are still items you need for the swap)
