Help!

Okay so I have a 94 ej1, since I first got the car it started to overheat, not a lot. Just once in a while, but like around a month ago, the car really started to overheat, a lot. I would remove the radiator cap and a bunch of orange/brown water started to come out of the radiator. Around a week ago I bought a new radiator cap, I just wanted to see if it would make a difference, and it did! The car hasn't overheated in the last week at all. I've stepped on it, trying to provoke it to overheat, but nothing. Anyone know what this could be? Maybe the radiator's clogged. I wouldn't mind some input, thanks! Oh, and I checked the oil on the car, no water is in the block. Could this mean the head gasket's still good?!
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :wave1::drive:

Well sounds like your old cap wasn't holding pressure which happens. You needed a new one.

Also sounds like you need to flush your coolant, cleaning it all out and replacing it.
While doing it, I would also put in a new T-Stat. After that hope your good to go but I would start with that.

Do you know where I can get it flushed? and around how much they would charge!?

Thanks man! I appreciate your input, yeah I was also thinking that, but then again It doesn't explain the brown/orange water coming out of it. So hopefully when it's flushed it'll fix it.

Search around online. Its very simple. Unscrew the petcock on the radiator to drain that. But 1st go to the parts store and get some coolant and a flush "T" kit. Follow the directions on the package. Other than that you will need a hose. Also don't forget to remove the coolant res and dump the fluid out and wash the tank out. Also flush the rubber lines between the radiator and the coolant res.

While doing this job, also change the T-stat.

Best of luck.
