Turbo kits
Finally getting the si up to where it needs to be and im looking next into investing in a turbo kit. Only problem is i have no clue where to start. im only looking for about 3 to 350 hp and still be reliable and im hearing mixed things about just abot every kit im looking into including ebay kits. and about how many man hours can it be done in? or should i start with upgrading the engi.e its self before going into forced induction.

Call superior tuning
|
uh oh... 20+ psi should be able to do that..
someone forgot there was a hatch that year? THIS!!!! |
But in all seriousness, a GSR shouldn't have a hard time making that with a very simple kit (if it's in decent condition that is..).

All depends on you my man.. Putting a turbo kit on is not at all difficult. It can get frustrating at times when things don't line up as they should, but for a simple kit like what you're looking for.. Easy
But, I suggest you do not install a turbo kit until you have the funds to pay for towing (to tuner) and tune itself. This is where most fail. I don't think you should 'slap a quick map on so I can drive until I have enough to get it tuned'.. Just as you're saving for a kit price out how much a tune would cost, talk to who ever that is about your plans/set up, then do not let the kit touch your car until you have enough for everything |
Installing it is easy, but the problem with azht is most guys on here who try working on their own stuff end up creating a thread asking for help. Then two months later a for sale thread appears. If you go to a good shop it's all on them to make sure things go right. If you go through TSR for your work you then have access to Joe for tuning.
It's a lot easier just to take to a shop unless you are truly confident on your ability to do your own work. |
^^Mmm depends on the person bro..^^
I built my motor in my kitchen lol, then still went down to Joe but if you got the money/time and want to take it to a shop, Aaron is very good at what he does.. |
If Joe doesn't know you or has never tuned your stuff before he sends you to UMS.
